So are they projecting their own failures on the institution of marriage itself? I guess that's one way of putting it, another way is to just say that they speak from personal experience and project their own world-view in their work.

Tarantino refuses to get married? Yeah, I'm sure that's why he's single.

Great movie. I can't remember the last time someone played evil so well.

I view the ending here as more like an epilogue. Though the main and most interesting events are now behind us, the ending suggests that Nick is now in a living Hell that he can't escape, whereas before all of this occurred he was still very much in control of walking away from her, the money, everything. It just serves to further her own insecurities and insanity that she's won once again and always gets her way, and now Nick despite knowing the truth is forever under her foot and bound to a marriage he doesn't want.

I still say... He one day kills her. The line at the beginning where he's tousling her hair is the same as when he's doing it at the end. Could they both be at the end of the story? If so, he talks about bashing her brains in.

Yeah, that's pretty much how Gillian Flynn writes/suggests it in the novel.

If so, he talks about bashing her brains in. I agree that this is likely what will happen due to complete madness, but at the same time even if he does she still wins ultimately. It would certainly cause another media sensation and everyone would remark poor Amy, evil Nick. And yeah I'm pretty sure that's the same scene just at the end of it all, the book I believe begins with the exact same opening line.

She's got those funky nipples. Not kicking her outta bed or anything, but they are kind of... off putting. Maybe that's just me.

Tarantino refuses to get married? Yeah, I'm sure that's why he's single. No kidding. QT is a good director who just happens to be an insufferable prick. I can't even imagine someone really wanting to marry him who doesn't already have plans for his untimely demise.

He probably quizzes them on movies, like a first date would be a bunch of Leone films and then a pop quiz with essay questions after hahaha.

I finally rewatched it a couple of weeks ago and it holds up. Not Fincher's best work but still a great flick. Amazing score from Trent and Atticus as well.

Rosamund Pike should have won the Oscar. Her performance was classic.

I don't know. The entire cast was great, even Tyler Perry. It honestly hurt me to type that last part btw. Not sure if her performance was quite Oscar worthy but she did deserve the nod I think.

My Rank 1. The Social Network 2. Gone Girl 3. Se7en 4. Fight Club 5. Zodiac 6. Alien 3 7. Panic Room 8. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 9. The Game 10. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Rosamund Pike should have won the Oscar. I don't even remember who won the Oscar. The entire cast was great, even Tyler Perry. Tyler Perry is a good actor. He's just a shitty writer-producer-director.
