Here's a thread for trivia buffs - or just me and Wyldstaar . DID YOU KNOW that Dick Tracy (1990) is the comic book movie with the most Academy Awards? Dick Tracy won three Oscars: Best Set Design, Best Make-Up and Best Song. Batman (1989) won a single Oscar: Best Set Design. Big Hero 6 (2014) also won a single Oscar: Best Animated Film. The Dark Knight (2008) won two Oscars: Best Supporting Actor and Best Sound Editing. Men in Black (1997) won a single Oscar: Best Make-Up. Road to Perdition (2002) also won a single Oscar: Best Cinematography. Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Superman (1978) continued the trend of single Oscars: Best Visual Effects. And that should be it... unless I'm forgetting something.

I'd say this is disappointing, but that probably isn't fair; I haven't seen Dick Tracy.

Dick Tracy doesn't hold up to well. But when I was young, it was a fun movie. Al Pacino over-acting it up

It was such a horrible pile of crap but for some reason people love anything Warren Beatty does. No idea why. Even as a kid I couldn't sit through that movie.

PG CooperAl Pacino over-acting it up Al Pacino is the first actor to be nominated for a comic book movie. You might want to look up a movie called Skippy. Technically it was based on a comic strip rather than a comic book, but so was Dick Tracy, and it was nominated for four Oscars in 1930 including Best Picture and Best Actor and it won Best Director. It's also a very bad movie that has been rightfully forgotten.

You might want to look up a movie called Skippy. I stand corrected - although Skippy is more in the genre of Peanuts and Garfield and stuff like that. Dick Tracy, along with Zorro and The Shadow, were the inspirations for Batman. Still... good job. It's also interesting that Skippy has parallels with Superman. Jackie Cooper played Perry White in the Chris Reeve series and Joseph Mankiewicz is the father of Tom Mankiewicz who wrote the Richard Donner ones.
