Too bad Stuntman Mike couldn't have picked up the cast of Spy Kids and taken them for a ride. I'd watch that.

The commonality between the scenes in Blade Runner and Kill Bill vol II seem to be more about the fact that they both have Daryl Hannah thrashing around on the floor, rather than Tarantino borrowing a visual. All the rest of those are spot-on, though.

Man... that guy... it's sad really. Believing his indie maverick hype has caused most of his problems and it seems he hasn't learned his lesson yet. He should just quit and become a critic or something, his interview show on the El Rey network is pretty good.

His interview show on the El Rey network is pretty good. I've watched every episode... but it isn't very good. Jon Favreau is WAY better. Dinner for Five was a great show and his one-on-one interviews were great too.

Dinner for Five was awesome...I forgot that show existed. Pretty cool that every episode is available on the official YouTube channel. That'll keep me occupied for the next few weeks.

I miss early 2000's IFC. My other favorite show was Ultimate Film Fanatic with Chris Gore. I'll never forget the episode where Jason Mewes was a judge and one of the contestants started talking shit about Kevin Smith. I must have laughed like an idiot.

I mostly remember Robert Evans not understanding the contest and screwing up the finale in one of those seasons. Anyway, IFC used to be awesome. Now that they put ads in their movies they're dead to me.

I pulled a Deexan and watched the first 4 episodes of Dinner for Five. I love all the shit talking they do. I think that's why Jon Favreau had to end the show. He got way too famous and probably didn't want to get any heat from people. In just 4 episodes they talk shit about Harvey Weinstein, the director of The Last Seduction, Vince Vaughn, Marlon Brando and Tom Hanks. And that episode #4 with Sarah Silverman and Rod Steiger... what an odd pairing. I love how Kevin Pollack is trying his best not to laugh cause he knows Sarah is just trolling. I'll watch more episodes later. I'm looking forward to re-visiting the ones where Kevin Smith mocks Jon Favreau for always talking about Swingers. You could tell they kinda hated each other. Favreau even low-key talks shit about Mallrats in the first episode.

DeexanEpisode 7 with Faison Love and Michael Rapaport might have the record for most shit talking. Even Sarah Silverman is like, "yeah... let me stay quiet. I wanna keep my career." LOL.

Haven't had time to watch any yet, but I will from tomorrow. I did watch the Affleck-Garner episode you linked to - who'd have thought he'd eventually be beaten up by that sweet girl.

If you watch the episode, you can tell that she totally wants to have sex with Ben Affleck. And you can also tell that she totally hates Kevin Smith. Also check out the Elf episode.

Interesting comparison of The Town and The Fighter. I wasn't a fan of The Town. I thought it was very cliche. The Fighter, however, had the Christian Bale character to spice things up. It wasn't entirely a typical boxing movie.

Doomsday Dracula PG Cooper SnoBorderZeroblogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/quentin-tarantino-says-selma-deserved-an-emmy-was-disappointed-to-lose-oscar-to-the-hurt-locker-20151013While Quentin Tarantino is spending the fall cementing his love of film over digital with the 70mm release of "The Hateful Eight," and uh, watching VHS tapes over streaming on Netflix, the director has also spent his press time throwing shade. He stated that David Robert Mitchell's "It Follows" was good but not great, and that he was bored by the first season of "True Detective," not even making it past the first episode. And while Tarantino is entitled to his opinion, he's starting to tread a fine line between commenting on the state of American cinema, and kind of being a jerk. And he veers towards the latter in a recent interview with The New York Times Style Magazine. Chatting it up with Bret Easton Ellis, the duo cover a lot of ground in the piece, but Tarantino's comments on Ava DuVernay's "Selma" are certainly going to raise the most eyebrows. "She did a really good job on ‘Selma’ but ‘Selma’ deserved an Emmy," he said, diminishing the accomplishment of the critically acclaimed film. Tarantino goes on to promote the notion that any talk about race and cinema must involve his own movies, such as the recent "Django Unchained," and the upcoming "The Hateful Eight" which, he has already stated, will resonate deeply on those themes. "If you’ve made money being a critic in black culture in the last 20 years you have to deal with me," the director said. "You must have an opinion of me. You must deal with what I’m saying and deal with the consequences." And when he's not ensuring he's part of the critical conversation about the big issues in cinema, he's lamenting the victories he should have had, such as the Best Original Screenplay for "Inglorious Basterds," which he lost to Mark Boal for "The Hurt Locker." "It bugged me that Mark Boal won Best Screenplay for that movie,’’ Tarantino admits. "The Kathryn Bigelow thing — I got it. Look, it was exciting that a woman had made such a good war film, and it was the first movie about the Iraq War that said something. And it wasn’t like I lost to something dreadful. It’s not like ‘E.T.’ losing to ‘Gandhi.’ " The entire piece is a worth reading with Tarantino also opining on his fellow filmmakers David Fincher ("Even when I don’t like his movies I walk around thinking about them for a week or so"), Wes Anderson ("The Grand Budapest Hotel" is the first picture by the director he likes) and Judd Apatow (who he thinks is getting "better and better"). However, it's only a matter of time until some of those very same folks Tarantino calls out start to strike back or, in the case of Cate Blanchett, shrug it off. Earlier this year, Tarantino lamented that contemporary Oscar movies don't have staying power. "Half of these Cate Blanchett movies — they’re all just like these arty things. I’m not saying they’re bad movies, but I don’t think most of them have a shelf life," he said. Asked about the comments by Vulture, the actress took it stride. "Well, he’s entitled to his opinion. It’s like horses for courses, not everyone’s gonna like what you do. Was it Louis Malle who said, 'It takes as much effort to make a bad film as it does to make a good film'? That’s just his opinion. I guess." "The Hateful Eight" opens on Christmas Day, with surely more condescending statements to come.

Well I don't agree with him on pretty much every point he made, but who the hell am I to disagree with Tarantino or tell him he's wrong? I mean, really, what Fincher movies did he not like? Almost everything he's done, especially recently, has been totally on point. Fincher is one of the best filmmaking minds out there. He does sound really, really arrogant in that interview though.

Blanchett handled things like a professional. What a boss. Anyway, I don't disagree with everything he's saying. Mark Boal winning an Oscar for screenwriting is pretty ridiculous. I like The Hurt Locker a lot, but everything that's great about that film comes from Bigelow.
