DirectTV aired the season 2 premiere. It's... good. It had a lot of great moments, but I also fear that this season will be more of the same. iverdawg and PhantomKnight were fans of season 1 if I recall correctly, but the "Eva Green origin episode" was the only one that stood out to me as anything special. Season 2 premieres on May 3rd on Showtime.

Yeah, I liked the first season, but mostly because Green gave the best performance on TV last season. I forgot it was coming back so soon.

Yeah, I only watch the show for Eva Green and the sets and the music. Although the villain this season, a woman, is probably gonna rival Eva Green in acting. The last scene of the episode was practically a battle to see who's more over-the-top. lol.

I like the show for more than just Eva Green. I like the storyline and the mixture of the supernatural aspects with the Victorian London setting -- a combination I'm always partial to in general -- but Eva Green is indeed the icing on top. I don't have Showtime (I only managed to watch Season 1 because of a free week of the channel last summer), but I'll still check out the first episode of Season 2 anyway.

So, apparently the show's over now. I recently picked up the first 2 seasons on DVD (still haven't seen Season 2 yet) and I'll most likely do the same for Season 3.

There's an ending, but it's a rushed ending. Fans weren't satisfied. John Logan CLAIMS it was his decision, but it's obvious that mid-way through production Showtime pulled the plug and Logan tried his best to wrap things up.

Double bummer. Now I have to wait for season 3 to be released on Netflix.
I really enjoyed watching this series it's right up my alley.
I guess I will go and subscribe to the Titan Comic Book Penny Dreadful prequels, yes they're fleshing out the back story yay!

Finished Season 2 yesterday, and I'm fairly confident in saying I loved it more than Season 1. The main villain, played by Helen McCrory, had more of a presence throughout and always remained menacing, and the main arc of the season had more momentum. Just started Season 3, the first episode of which has a great ending, but I know to keep my expectations tempered due to its rushed ending, which is a shame cause this was a great show.

It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

Ah. Had to cut down my premium channels when I bought the condo, so I'm lost on anything not HBO.

I believe all 3 seasons of Penny Dreadful are on Netflix.
