I have really enjoyed this season more than the previous. While I used to get impatient and aggravated with the proverbial boulder it seemed like the gang was always being crushed under, they are now seeing struggle that seems more ... I don't know how to put it really. It just seems like every season has been constant barrages of the gang, without any hope of a light at the end of the tunnel versus now, where there are definitely obstacles to overcome, but it doesn't seem overwhelmingly suffocating, or have a "just kidding, MORE SHIT ON YOU" at every turn. While Danesh kind of did get shit on, it was at least dealt with humorously with the hot dog scene.
I still hate and distrust Gavin, so I'm weary of Richard getting involved with him, but maybe they will work better together as collaborators versus opponents. I just don't want to get back into Gavin power play or Richard egotistical head up his ass over his algorithm territory.

Not really. They finally made Gavin likable and into a bit of a protagonist, only to send him packing. This has been my favorite season as of yet, though. Looking forward to seeing where it goes, though I think Danesh turning in his girlfriend to the FBI is going to have ramifications that affect the team. Even Gilfoy is somewhat scared of what she is capable of.

Now that the season is over, T.J. Miller finally revealed what happened. It wasn't far off from what many of us thought. He had scheduling conflicts and wasn't willing to compromise. HBO offered him to appear in 3 or 5 episodes but he balked. Either bend over for him or walk away. That's why his exit was so random. Mike Judge & Co. were like, "fuck this guy." It's an open-ending. He can still show up in the future, but for now, he's off in his opium dream. |

In the end, it was Jian Yang's horrible fridge which saved the day. I still don't know if I entirely followed what happened and much preferred the penultimate episode to the finale, but it was a decent season. My gripe is that we landed in the same place as every other season where things go terribly terribly wrong until some random thing saves them at the last second by the skin of their teeth, but we know it's going to land them in more shit.
If you're following the show, they're metaphorically still sailing the oceans in an attempt to find their Hawaii. I'd like to think we see a season of them achieving and reveling in their success, but I feel like the show is going to end on a successful note and let that be that, and that will bum me out.
