Because of people's hatred for Scientology, Battlefield Earth has been unfairly declared the worst movie of the 21st Century. It's a classic man vs alien story with a unique style and personality. I think people should give it a second chance. Does anyone else agree?

"Battlefield Earth" is the worst wide release film I've ever seen. Inexcusable things like the tripod being off-center. I'm pretty sure no one involved in this works in Hollywood anymore (other than Travolta and Whitaker obviously), it wasn't even so bad it was funny, it was just painful. And they were trying, yikes.

I really tried to get into it when it first came out and found it to be drivel from actors I did not believe

Well they did snub John Travolta out of a Best Actor nomination. No. Brian Pepper. His role as the human who started the revolution was breathtaking. There wasn't a better actor or performance in the year 2000.

Plus he was able to take a bunch of primitive people and quickly teach them (along with help from the learning machine) how to fly advanced space cruisers and battle the supposedly incredibly advanced race. And I think...win? I forget, or at least I try to.

He wins in the sequel that was never made. It was supposed to be two movies based on one book. It was supposed to be the pre LOTR and Harry Potter and The Hobbit and The Hunger Games.

So you're saying it doesn't get enough credit for molding our current Hollywood?

Nah, probably not.

More serious than Kelly Preston's CGI tongue licking Travolta? It doesn't get more high brow than that!

Well they did snub John Travolta out of a Best Actor nomination. No. Brian Pepper. Barry. I always mistake him for Michael Rapaport from Higher Learning. Which one cameo'd in Friends?

It's like an easily avoided multi-car pile-up that just keeps happening for two hours. Fascinating, enthralling, and tragic. You just keep finding yourself asking, "What were they thinking?"
