Considering how long it takes to well do effects over actors and such. I am gonna say Its possible he ma have been added late but I doubt it. Any fan of star wars and Edwards seems too be but trying to add more things differant. From my overall opinion Id say the Droid was always a stand out character. Its not Star Wars without droids somewhere. I dont think they needed reshoots for the droid.

I dont know why the new droid is getting flack. Didnt Cad Bane have a weird looking Bounty Hunter Droid in the Clone Wars cartoon. 3PO Get old after a while and only hero droid has been R2 And BB8. Its time for a Droid too be huge and scary and yet a hero in way.

They're saying Desplat left cause of scheduling conflict, but really, the re-shoots completely changed the movie. Giacchino makes more sense now. Only issue is he's going from Doctor Strange to Rogue One without a break. Hopefully he won't be burned out. |

As long as he doesn't mail it in like his Star Trek Beyond score. Kind of disappointed, though, cause I was looking forward to hearing what Desplat would've done.

I was looking forward to hearing what Desplat would've done. His music was the best thing about Godzilla, but since this isn't Gareth Edwards movie anymore, it's probably for the best that he moved on. IF Disney ever decides to release the original version, I wouldn't mind Desplat being brought in to do the score. Ridley Scott did that with Legend. There's two versions of that movie and each has a different score: one by Jerry Goldsmith and the other by Tangerine Dream |
