I hesitate to comment on this given I really don't care about a Ghostbusters reboot and have no real nostalgia for these movies, but it's very weird this comedy sequel seems to have no jokes.

Not all that many in the original trailer, either. Most of the comedy is implied by the fact that all the leads are known comedians. Afterlife only appears to have Paul Rudd in the cast to do that, so it's more apparent.
