Lots of love for Chef and Begin Again. Two movies that Dracula hated and ignored. I didn't "hate" Chef, I gave it three stars and thought it was a mostly alright diversion. I did ignore Begin Again though.

Still missing some big ones, notably "Whiplash" and "Selma", but here's what I've got.
1. Boyhood 2. Birdman 3. Inherent Vice 4. Gone Girl 5. The Grand Budapest Hotel 6. Nightcrawler 7. Interstellar 8. Guardians of the Galaxy 9. The Lego Movie 10. Calvary
Yeah, definitely need to see some more films from the year but alas this is what I got.

The score that some of you fine people are giving to Interstellar is paining me.

We're more alike that we care to admit.
Peel back the facade of our beef and what we find is two men closer than they would care to admit.
This may be cause to set aside our differences and team up against a common enemy.

Is Dracula the common enemy? And where do I fit in? I ranked it fourth? On my blog, that qualified it for Best Director and Best Picture nominations.

*sigh* As I've said in prior threads, I've seen very little of the films of 2014, especially the last quarter of the year. Had I been to the movies those past few months, I have a strong feeling that this list would be entirely different. As it goes now, these are nearly all the movies I saw last year in the order I liked them.
1.Gone Girl 2.The Raid 2 3.John Wick 4.Guardians 5.X-Men: Days of Future Past 6.Captain America 7.Interstellar 8.Edge Of Tomorrow 9.The Babadook 10.The Guest

Was Foxcatcher just not seen by many of you, or did you all truly not enjoy it that much? Also I edited my list Dracula, but per your request I left my original list in place and just edited a new list into the post.

As for Foxcatcher, I thought that was a very well made movie but I also think it had some very misguided storytelling mistakes. It felt like the Du Pont psychological arc was missing a few steps and in general I thought the whole American Exceptional-ism theme didn't really amount to much.

What's the estimated day of the final tally? I might be able to squeeze in a few last quarter contenders this weekend.

Officially polls close at 2:00 P.M. central time on Saturday, but I've been known to extend the deadline a few hours to get some last minute votes in. In general I just try to make sure it ends before the Oscars.
