It remains to be seen if this series will be allowed to come to pass. The licensing agreement Fox holds on the X-Men reportedly doesn't allow for a television program. The contract permits Fox to make live-action X-Men feature films, and forbids anyone else from making a live-action X-Men property on TV (which caused a big legal mess when Mutant X began airing on cable), but doesn't grant them the right to make such a show themselves. In order for Fox to make such a series, they will have to get an expansion of their license from Marvel Studios, who is under no obligation to agree.
Personally, I think Marvel Studios will probably sign off on it. It's more money for them, with Fox doing all the work and taking all the risk. The major factor will be what TV plans Marvel Studios has in the works. If they intend to launch something other than just SHIELD and Agent Carter onto network television, they may not want the competition from Fox. So far though, it looks like they're focusing on The Defenders series on Netflix.

The fact that Fox already has showrunners in place, and probably a script, means that Marvel is VERY likely to allow an expansion and we'll see X-Men on television by Fall 2015, Spring 2016 or Summer 2016.

Having never read the Legion comic series this is loosely based on, I don't really know what to expect. Looks like it has potential, though. It's definitely for the best that Fox ceased production on their Hellfire series. They're reportedly replacing it with one that sounds like a TV version of the film Midnight Special.

I have no idea what is going on. Its great. It was a bit confusing, but basically, what's-his-face and blonde girl switched bodies so he could escape the asylum and she used his powers to kill everyone at the asylum. Now the government is after them and Legion is some sort of X-Men/Brotherhood hybrid. |

Just finished watching the pilot. Interesting and weird. I didn't realize it was going to be a period piece. I'll definitely watch the next episode.
Syd Barrett, seriously? That's a bit on the nose for a show set in the 60's about someone with mental health issues featuring lots of psychedelic imagery.

Ok being in suspense as to what is or isn't real is pretty great in this. I don't know where this show is going and how faithful it intends to be to the comics, but David Haller (the main character) suffers from multiple personality disorder and each personality has its own powers. This episode was jumping all over the place and I wonder if they're setting that up. I think Aubrey Plaza is one of his personalities and that weird creature that is following him around. Wyldstaar , care to chime in? |

I'm also really enjoying his frenetic energy in this second episode. And the actress that played Syd was pretty good as well.
