I was always maybe 90% certain the verdict was going to be "guilty" (the remaining percent was on hung jury, while acquital was non-existent thanks to the defense team's apparent lack of performance), but I don't have my hopes quite as high on prison sentence. The good news is that the judge seems pretty fair-minded about the trial, which has me hoping the sentence won't be bullshit. But this is also Trump we're talking about, so double standards walk hand-in-hand. |

There is a speedbump in that though because, from my understanding, it's judge's discretion as to whether not he serves sentence while appeal is being processed. While I do follow a few base things law-related for funzies, I don't know off the top of my head whether it's this court or the appeals court that makes that decision. Either way, there are still odds that Trump will be serving by the time the election rolls around. |
