Apparently yes. Bobo did a for-show prayer session because God won't let her lose or some shit.

Donated a C-note to Warnok's runoff in Georgia. Did the same during the last Georgia runoff and it seems to have paid off, so hopefully my money is a lucky charm.

Dems hold the Senate. The runoff in Georgia will decide if they get an extra seat.
The House is still up for grabs, though Dems still have a path to keep majority there even if they did lose seats.
The red wave was a red water gun aimed at a blue Godzilla.

Trump announces his candidacy for 2024...a full 2 years before the election. Democrats probably couldn't be happier.

That was real nice of him to formally announce Biden was getting a second term like that. What a guy!

Are you suggesting that Donald Trump might put his own personal agenda and ego ahead of his party's unity and/or the good of the country? Can you really imagine such a thing?

My prediction is that the GOP is going to lean into DeSantis hard to try and steer people away from Trump, but the MAGAts will come out full force to make Trump win the primary. Trump goes up against Biden again, and god willing hopefully he gets the biggest beat down of his life. He'll cry voter fraud again, but the boy who cried wolf factor goes into play.
That just might be the romantic optimist in me, though.

But maybe Kevin McCarthy will be even more stupid and try a government shutdown in the next 2 years.

No, he’ll torch everything, say how the primary was rigged, the party is compromised and that nobody should ever vote GOP again. He’s both the Titanic AND the iceberg for Republicans.

GOP officially gains majority in the House, while Nancy Pelosi stands down as Dem speaker.
Apparently Boebert declared victory in her race, but as far as I can tell nobody has called it and even if she's ahead in the end it's likely going to recount. I imagine she's trying to pull a Trump.

What would be hilarious about him running as an Independent is that he'd take a huge chunk out of the red vote and it would absolutely guarantee Biden a second term.

He may also run as an independent in the general! There's no "may" involved in this scenario. The folks in the GOP have made it quietly clear that they'd like Trump to just go away and stop peeing in their pool. Unfortunately for them, the morons who vote in the Republican primary are mostly still Trumpies. Trump will definitely run as an independent if the GOP arrange for DeSantis to win the way Democrats arranged for Hillary to win. This is the only thing that's likely to prevent them from attempting to rig the primary for DeSantis, since they know full well that Trump doesn't actually give two shits about the party. Plus, at this point he wants to be President again not only to stroke his ego, but to avoid prosecution! At the moment, it looks like Republicans are in a no-win situation. If DeSantis wins the primary (whether it be honestly or rigged), Trump will run as an independent. If Trump wins the primary, only the people still drinking the Kool-Aid are going to vote for him. The GOP may actually want Trump to wind up in prison PDQ. It would be the surest way to avoid having Trump on the ballot at all, and allow them to use his imprisonment as a rallying cry to his base.

It's technically not illegal to run for office from prison and I wouldn't put it past Trump to give it a try.

They would have to be done through his various proxies, like Pillow Man. Those aren't likely to get much traction in the media. I don't think it really matters, since if Trump ever winds up in prison, it will probably take longer than two years to get him there. The wheels of justice turn slowly. He'll likely die of old age before any sentencing is carried out.
