Neverending, Donald may be an atrocious person, a national disgrace, and already the worst president we've ever had, but there's truth to his needling Warren over her misrepresenting her heritage to suit her needs: thinkprogress.org/elizabeth-warren-is-not-cherokee-c1ec6c91b696/Why she doesn't get called out on this more often is beyond me. I dread having to vote for her for President, but I will if she's the option given.

He's "needling" her because he's incapable of debating her on the merit of the issues so he just calls her "Pocahontas" over and over again. Over-emphasising whatever Cherokee ancestry she thought she had was dumb, but it's not like this was a cornerstone of her political identity and to constantly badger her over it is asinine.

I dread having to vote for her for President, but I will if she's the option given. Why is it beyond you? It's a minor story which was addressed long ago. The only reason to continue to bring it up is to score a cheap shot against a political opponent who has performed her job so well that there is no other ammunition to use against her. It's pathetic. As for having to vote for her for President, I don't think that's a very likely option. Joe Biden is likely to run, and he would probably win the nomination, unless someone unforseen makes a big splash on the Democratic political scene.

I laugh at your confidence in being able to predict nominees here on out.

The point you're all missing when it comes to Elizabeth Warren isn't that she just claimed to be Native American, she did so presumably to help her in the job market including getting a job at Harvard Law School, a claim that of course she and other Democrats deny. Colleagues at Harvard also deny it but what else are they going to say? Yes, it did help her? They did take her supposed ancestry into consideration when hiring her? Of course they won't admit to that about hiring her or anybody. Not only that, they also deny the job candidacy argument because we all know that if a Republican marked a different ethnicity on so much as a magazine renewal form Democrats nationwide would be calling for them to be skinned alive. It's this hypocrisy that enables Republicans to never let the Warren issue go. It's in Warren's best interest to deflect from this because it doesn't make her look good any way you slice it.
As for Trump, it's just trollery of the highest order. He probably doesn't even know what issues he disagrees with her on or where she stands on anything, he's not smart enough, he just says 'Pocahontas' because he knows that Democrats will turn it up to 11 every time which will rile up his base and will keep this the issues that defines Warren for many Americans.

Colleagues at Harvard also deny it but what else are they going to say? Yes, it did help her? They did take her supposed ancestry into consideration when hiring her? Of course they won't admit to that about hiring her or anybody. They "deny" it because that's obviously true. Warren has never claimed to be any more than 1/32 Cherokee and looks white as hell. If they were that desperate to hire a minority they would have hired someone who, like, actually looks like one. She specifically checked "no" when asked if she was entitled to affirmative action consideration on an application and listed herself as "white" on her application to Rutgers Law, and she wasn't touted as "the first minority" in any Harvard Crimson articles at the time of her hiring. Not only that, they also deny the job candidacy argument because we all know that if a Republican marked a different ethnicity on so much as a magazine renewal form Democrats nationwide would be calling for them to be skinned alive. It's this hypocrisy that enables Republicans to never let the Warren issue go. The Republican party is the party of Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions, if Democrats want to criticize them for being racist they have plenty of plainly visible targets, they don't need to make mountains out of some silly little molehill about a lady believing a goofy family story about Cherokee ancestry.

Trump mocks Warren but, in his first book, Trump claimed his family was Swedish. Trump's family was from Germany, and their sir name was Drumpf.
