Wow it's disappointing that so many are shitting on the ACLU for representing Milo Greeknameopoulos.
Dude is vile yes, but this is a pretty clear violation of free speech by a govt agency.
Censoring someone like this (in the form of disallowing ads on a govt run commuter system) just gives them more power.

While I do believe that even a waste of food and oxygen like Milo has the right to have his say, I also don't think the ACLU has any business getting involved. Milo has the resources at his disposal to deal with any free speech violations himself. There are loads of people who need the help of the ACLU who don't have enough money for a lawyer. Between them and keeping the Trumpublicans in line, the ACLU have got more important issues to tackle that this douche bag.

My understanding of the ACLU is that they aren't really an organization that's in the business of providing legal services to individuals so much as they focus on making sure the right precedents are set and the right laws are in place. Whether or not an individual can afford their own lawyer is kind of irrelevant to them as it's less about getting Milo a cash settlement (he has his own lawyers to see to that) and more about the principle.

I realize that, but they have chosen not to represent people who needed their help, and resulted in dangerous precidents. A while back this poor kid who worked at a comic book store (not the owner, just the kid behind the register) was charged with "display of obscenity" after he sold an adult comic book to an ADULT. The prosecutor argued that since the "obscenity" in question was a comic book, it was inherently meant to be seen by children, and the fact that he sold the book to an adult was irrelevant. He was convicted and fined $4,000.

What a fiasco! The cops spent a week preparing for a violent outbreak at this protest. Then when people started arriving hours before the noon start, they broke up the early violence, and sent people on their way.
Unfortunately, the cops pretty much dispersed as well. The protest started up again, and for a coup!e of hours, the cops seemed to be hanging out in their cars watching the early skirmishes. They were not there in numbers when they were desperately needed.
@ 36 injured 1 dead after that shithead drove his car back and forth over protestors.
Trump - way too little, way to late. This is what we get when Capitol Hill becomes polarized and it spills out into the public, and then an idiot comes along and whips all that disgruntlement into a frenzy.
He emboldened hate groups to step out front and center!
I tweeted that he should fire Gorka, Miller, and Bannon! We don't want then in our Whitehouse!

The CEOs who were members of Trump's advisory panel resigned in the wake of his latest bout of nazi sympathizing. In a sad attempt to make it seem as though it was his idea, Trump took to twitter to announce that he was dissolving the council himself.

I do wonder if his mishandling of the nazi thing is perhaps some kind of scheme to distract people from the fact that he was about to get us into a nuclear war...

I do wonder if his mishandling of the nazi thing is perhaps some kind of scheme to distract people from the fact that he was about to get us into a nuclear war... I don't believe so. As dangerous as his rhetoric was (and will probably be again), it's the sort of bluster that Trump's base eats up. Most of them are low information voters who think of North Korea as the bad guys from M*A*S*H and Team America: World Police. They don't think it's dangerous, and neither does Trump. I'm sure there are people around him, such as his chief of staff and national security adviser who repeatedly tell him how dangerous such behavior is, but he clearly doesn't listen to anything substantive they have to say. The nazi thing is, I suspect, a gross miscalculation on Trump's part to pander to his base. He's a racist, and thinks that all of the folks who voted for him secretly are as well, and are just looking for someone to come out and say what they feel. Now a great many conservatives who voted for Trump just to try and shake things up in Washington are regretting not voting for Kasich in the primaries. It's pretty clear in hindsight that Kasich could have won the election, and he isn't delusional.

We didn't almost get into a nuclear war. It was all bluster from beginning to end.
Trump's true colors came out in that q and a in the press conference.

I agree that his "poor" handling of this stuff was due to his racist thoughts of his constituents, but that his reasoning for not speaking against Nazism for two days has more to do with his massive ego and probable delusion that he nailed it the first time. Who are Fake News to get him to respond?

Finally!
The general had to make the final decision, Trump just signed off on it. Get ready for scathing articles on Brietbart . Bannon is about to go Obi Wan Kenobi on Trump's ass! "IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN, I SHALL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE.”
Still, Trump will be Trump, and I know we did just see who Trump really is after that Tuesday press conference.
Now they're talking about whether or not Trump gave comfort to the white supremacists, and yes, I think that meets the definition. He empowered them by saying there were nice white supremacists, and weakened the presidential position.
Oh, there are more rallies this weekend. We shall see what develops
Edit - notice how much time Fox news is devoting to the terrorist attacks in Europe (and not talking about Trump's week)
A Missouri state senator posted that she wished Trump would be assassinated, you'd think a state senator would know better

I read an interesting tweet/article about the fact that post-WWII the US focused so much on the Cold War and the "evil" of communism that it didn't properly dismantle the Nazi ideology to ensure it never arose in numbers again. Can't find the link though...
