As someone who got really sick of Wes Anderson movies, this is now my second-favourite film of his (Rushmore is my first). Having now seen all the "Oscar Bait," I think this is one of the better films of the year, certainly better than Birdman, American Sniper, and Selma.

I thought it was on par with Birdman. Easily two of my favorites of the year.

Now here's a movie I would never have taken a look at had it not been nominated for an Oscar.
I am so glad I have seen it - this one is going to win awards.
Great cast, fun story, wonderful settings and costumes.

I know a lot of people who thought this was pretty meh. Not sure why... It's Wes Anderson. Yeah, most film people are pretty enamored with him. But for a lot of casuals his style of humor doesn't always work. Those people enjoy Kevin Hart and Melissa McCarthy films. |

Did a quick rewatch of this the other night and it's an absolute delight still. My respect for it and fiennes only grows, he should have won the Oscar, damn birdman tore the place apart.
I'd dare say it's top 2 of wes Anderson for me.
9/10 - damn near perfect.
