Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, most well known for his first novel The Martian is being adapted for the silver screen by Lord & Miller. The current writers strike will keep the project in development Hell until it's over.
For those who haven't read the book, Project Hail Mary is about humanity being forced to deal with a non-sentient alien life form that has made it's way into the Solar system, and is feeding off the sun and growing so out of control that it threatens to turn the Earth into a frozen world. Time is running out, and there's only enough resources available for one desperate attempt to travel to the home system of these creatures in the hope of finding a way to stop them, and get that information back home before it's too late.
