Star Wars: Episode IX is now set for release on May 24, 2019. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film will close out the third Star Wars trilogy. In addition, the fifth chapter of the Indiana Jones series is now confirmed for a July 10, 2020 release. Both Steven Spielberg, director of every Indiana Jones film, and star Harrison Ford will return.

I can't begin to guess at how much the insurance for another Indy movie is going to cost. Between breaking his leg two weeks into filming on The Force Awakens, crashing a plane on a golf course, and simply being an old stoner, Harrison Ford is a broken hip just waiting to happen. How the hell is he supposed to do this?

Wow, that's almost the opposite of what was lined up when I finished Ready Player One. Last I heard was that Indy was on the fast track, West Side Story was on ice and Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara was pretty much scrapped entirely when Spielberg cancelled that to do The Post. He's been trying to get West Side Story up and running for a long time but I heard the script was like 160 pages or something which is absurd.

I saw the TCM Big Screen Classics showing of West Side Story yesterday. I don't know if it would work if done today, though I'm curious about what Spielberg would do with it.
