This is something you don't hear everyday. www.nerdacy.com/2014/12/12/disney-indiana-jones-5/Disney doesn't have time to make an Indiana Jones movie. They're too busy with other things. Let's not beat around the bush. They're waiting for Harrison Ford to die... or at least give up. Bradley Cooper will be your next Indiana Jones. Remember that I said it. December 12, 2014 Mark it down.

You are not the first person to suggest Cooper as Indiana Jones. That is one of the more popular opinions out there.

LOL. Crystal Skull hurt the Indiana Jones brand, so... whatever. I still think that Bradley Cooper is the ideal guy to replace Harrison Ford, but I guess he's too expensive now.

I'd really prefer they not recast the role and make more of these. I was fine with what Crystal Skull was; it wasn't a good movie, but I was fine with what the concept was. I'd be fine with a fifth film starring Ford. I really don't want to see another film starring a new Indy though. I don't think that will be as well-received as Disney might hope. This isn't James Bond, or Batman, or another iconic character that is much larger than the actors who have portrayed the character. This is a character who should fade away with age as the actor does.

How are you getting sick of him? He's only been in one movie, where he was the lead.

That phrase is used so often it's not even funny anymore, nor does it really count for anything. Every time someone dislikes a popular actor or actress it's always because "we're hating"--and I guess that means we're envious or something. No thanks.
He's been in Parks and Rec (he's trying too hard, and he's just stupid, not funny), the new Jurassic Park, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Lego Movie, now he's probably going to be the new Indiana Jones (which I can only assume will spawn a new series and possibly a remake), and then The Magnificent Seven. All of those happen to be big blockbusters which have been assaulting us all summer. They will likely continue to do so.

He's not even in the types of movies I like. That is, if I ever wanted to be an actor, or even famous for that matter.

This isn't James Bond, or Batman, or another iconic character that is much larger than the actors who have portrayed the character. This is a character who should fade away with age as the actor does. Ya know, as a person that saw Crystal Skull only once and hated it, I completely agree. It wasn't good as you've noted, but even then it still had Ford in the role and Spielberg at the helm. I'd be up for a 5th film with those two, or at least Ford, in hope that Lucas would stay away and they'd learn from the big mistakes from its predecessor. Ford IS Indiana Jones. Sure, people said that about Sean Connery and probably weren't stoked when Roger Moore was next in line (some still aren't), but Bond was still an already established character as you mentioned. Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones, and that's a very, very difficult role to take over for Chris Pratt. He doesn't have the range or sly, sarcastic nature that Ford plays so smoothly in his roles (they talked about this at great length in the "Blade Runner" documentary I'm watching) that really just makes Indy. I feel like Pratt would be reduced to one-liners and the stupid physical comedy that hampered Crystal Skull, and he wouldn't pull it off like Ford. It's better than Shia, yeah, but I'm really not convinced that this is a good idea. I'd rather have a Lucas-created 5th film than a reboot, that's how much I DON'T want this to occur.

Good news!
According to Variety reporter Justin Kroll, Bradley Cooper is still a contender for Indiana Jones. But... he's the #2 choice. I know. I know. Chris Pratt #1 and Bradley Cooper #2? That makes no sense. But don't forget that Bradley Cooper just received his 3rd consecutive Academy Award nomination and American Sniper is breaking box office records. If he were to sign up for Indiana Jones, he would definitely pull a Robert Downey, Jr. and end up getting $100 million per movie. So, Chris Pratt is a much cheaper alternative. I can't imagine him making more than $20 million for the movie.
Also... Chris Hemsworth, yes Thor, is also being considered. I love Chris Hemsworth, and he's definitely a better actor than Chris Pratt, but he needs to shed his pretty boy image. He needs to cut his hair, dye it brown, get into a few bar fights in Australia and maybe then he'll be a believable Indiana Jones.

Robert Downey, Jr. and end up getting $100 million per movie. I honestly can't tell if you're joking anymore, considering you've said this twice now. Or perhaps you're confused. It was rumored that RDJ was in negotiations to be paid $100 million for a new contract, that included at least three Marvel movies. However I don't think any of it was confirmed, other than his first chunk for Civil War (40 million plus possible royalties). Needless to say that wasn't "per movie", though.

It was rumored that RDJ was in negotiations to be paid $100 million for a new contract, that included at least three Marvel movies. This is how much Robert Downey, Jr. is "reportedly" making for Captain America: Civil War, which is ONE movie: www.cinemablend.com/new/Huge-Salary-Robert-Downey-Jr-Earn-Captain-America-3-67685.htmlSo... there's $40 million for JUST doing the movie. There's a percentage of the profit. And then, if the movie out-performs The Winter Soldier, he gets a bonus. Call me crazy... but eventually... it all adds up. It might not be $100 million per say... but... it'll be in the ballpark. Bradley Cooper, with his current success, could negotiate a deal like that. Chris Pratt cannot. And that's the point I was making.

So you were joking (via exaggeration). Gotcha. Not to be confused, but the last two quotes you posted are talking about the same thing.
Remember this is the internet, and you never post sources when you update a thread, so people are probably going to assume what you say is true.

Sorry. I was also exaggerating. You often do not post sources, simply bumping a thread saying "Ok, so now this is happening".
But I digress, getting back onto the main topic. I do not believe Bradley Cooper could or would negotiate RDJ numbers for an Indy movie (even the far less exaggerated numbers). Although yes, they could probably come to a better deal with Chris Pratt. Chris Hemsworth... just, no. Indy should be an American actor, as far as I'm concerned.
