Both the past and now run concurrently in the novel if I remeber correctly. Yeah, it jumps back and forth. It honestly took a while for me to really get into it, cause nearly the whole first third, apart from the beginning, are the main characters' entire life stories. It's when they start traveling back to Derry and remembering their past with It where it really got going. I also eventually started skimming through all the "Derry Interludes". Fortunately, this movie is just entirely the past. When you're done go back to the Ferry interludes. There's some cool vignettes in the rest that give you more of a picture of the cycle of terror. And a character from another novel/movie makes an appearance, if you haven't seen him already. |

The last of the interludes I read from beginning to end was the one about the shootout. I skimmed the fourth cause by then, I got the point: It's been terrorizing Derry forever.

New trailer is a little too jump scare-y for my liking, but I'm hoping that's just the way it's being marketed and that the actual film will be better than that.
Little nod to Tim Curry's Pennywise at the end was neat.
