The director has the tone down. It looks good. I enjoyed Mama

Best trailer I've seen in a long long time.

The tone does look right, I'm still not 100% sold one the look of Pennywise.

Man, I've been getting more and more into horror recently, and this looks like no exception. Looks creepy as hell. I also just downloaded the novel on Kindle because this trailer piqued my interest so much.

I'm in the vast minority but I'm not that impressed by the trailer. I don't think it was bad but I'm surprised how universal the praise is for it. I'm still cautiously optimistic though.

If you like it (it's a big book), I'd next go to the unabridged Stand if you're undaunted by the volume, or Shining/Misery/Pet Sematary if you want shorter. Those are the ones I'd consider frightening, for different reasons. Although I like his short stories best.

Hoping to start it after I finish my current read, The Circle by Dave Eggers.
The only thing of King's I've read up to this point has been the 1408 short story, and I liked that. I also have 11/22/63 sitting on my shelf waiting to be read.

I can't believe how excited I am for this movie. I'm nearly finished with the book -- 292 pages to go -- and there's some seriously fucked up stuff that happens in it. Andy Muschietti said they're not going to shy away from certain stuff, so this should be a hard R, plus it looks so well-shot and directed.

Both the past and now run concurrently in the novel if I remeber correctly.

Either way, as I've already covered in this thread, the technical term is "train," not "gang bang" or "orgy." Ask Frizzo the Clown, he'll back me up.

Both the past and now run concurrently in the novel if I remeber correctly. Yeah, it jumps back and forth. It honestly took a while for me to really get into it, cause nearly the whole first third, apart from the beginning, are the main characters' entire life stories. It's when they start traveling back to Derry and remembering their past with It where it really got going. I also eventually started skimming through all the "Derry Interludes". Fortunately, this movie is just entirely the past.
