Series finale is tonight. Am I the only one watching? I'll watch it. I was there when the show premiered. So I should also be there when it leaves. That's how I feel. This has always traditionally been a show I would DVR/download, but watching it live tonight feels appropriate.

I'll finish it on Netflix or On Demand.
Let me know if they at least mention Harris.

They mentioned Harris at the end of the credits.
It was a very good finale. Every character had their moment in the sun, and on a show like this that's really what matters most. Very enjoyable.

I liked the finale, but I missed the first 15 minutes.

Was a good finale. Was nice for the show to not just wrap up but give us some peaks at how things turned out for the crew.
I am surprised there are no rumblings of spin off now that some of the cast has some free time.

I am surprised there are no rumblings of spin off now that some of the cast has some free time. Chris Pratt is a movie star. Audrey Plaza is whoring herself in a Robert De Niro movie. Nick Offerman is the only one who could do s spin-off and make it work.

Aziz, Billy Eichner, Retta, Offerman, and Jim O'Heir would all be free to do it. Aubrey Plaza won't be a huge star like Pratt so she would be free in the near future BUT hard to have her on the show without Andy.

Do you guys not support the Jim Brown way they left? They specifically don't want to beat a dead horse into the ground (which I would argue, they most certainly did this last season...) and keep going with these characters, they want to end on a 'high' point.

Never said a spinoff was a good idea, just that I was surprised we haven't heard of one coming from this show. I honestly can only think of maybe a handful of spinoffs that turned out as good or better than their source. All the others are crap and anything from Parks would be crap as well. I loved the show but it won't work without the entire original lineup. They are fine in small doses individually but if you devoted an entire show to just one or two of them and their shtick would grow very old very fast.

If you devoted an entire show to just one or two of them and their shtick would grow very old very fast. Nah. It depends on the writing staff. Did you ever watch Joey, the spin-off from Friends? Awful, right? Now go watch Episodes on Showtime. MAJOR improvement. Frasier is another example. When Cheers ended, who actually expected Fraiser to be good and actually last 11 years? Probably no one. It all comes down to writing. You can turn the most annoying character into the best character with the right script. Andy was originally a jerk on the show. He was the boyfriend who was taking advantage of whats-her-face. But then they turned him into a doofus and hooked him up with Aubrey Plaza. Magic was born. Go watch the first season of The Office. Steve Carell was horrible. Now watch the first episode of the 2nd season.

I will guarantee any spinoff that would come out of Parks would be horrible.
Like I said, there are maybe a handful of spinoffs that are good or better than the source but for every success there are too many failures to count.

For every success there are too many failures to count. No there isn't. The Norman Lear spin-off's from the 70's gave the genre a great batting average. All these Law & Order and CSI spin-offs have arguably been more popular than their predecessors. Aside from Joey, how many spin-off's were actual trainwrecks?

Married with Children spinoff, oddly enough also starring Leblanc. Ms. Columbo Jackee The Bradys The Ropers Joanie Loves Chachi Saved by the Bell: The College Years Models Inc. The Lone Gunmen The Cleveland Show That 80s Show The Golden Palace Baywatch Nights Those are just the ones I watched. Here is a good list of spinoffs. Notice the long life of the majority of the source shows and the very short life of their spinoffs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_television_spin-offs

Saved by the Bell: The College Years #1 - It's not really a spin-off. #2 - It still airs on syndication. It's packaged alongside the other SBTB shows. #3 - It's a good show. #4 - And if you wanna use The New Class as an example, it lasted 7 seasons. Created by Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad). Predicted 9/11. It was an okay show. It lasted a few seasons. Repeats air on TBS and Adult Swim. The Golden Girls spin-off? It still airs on syndication. It's packaged with The Golden Girls. Cult hit.

The Golden Palace was/is absolute garbage. However, Empty Nest was a successful spinoff of The Golden Girls.
I finally watched the Parks and Recreation finale over the weekend. It was better than I was hoping for. Anyone else curious about whatever happened to Mark Brendenawicz?

He was in most of Season 2 as well.
We traded Mark for Ben and Chris, huge upgrade. I don't miss him one bit.
