Naaah. It’s a modern day revisionist take on Robin that’s gritty-but-fun, has loads of action scenes and a Hans Zimmer style score. It’s up your alley. Why don't I get back to you on that? You’re gonna tell me this isn’t a PhantomKnight movie?

Maybe if it had a director like Gore Verbinski.

I won't lie, I think the only Robin Hood movie I've watched from beginning to end is the Disney one. Doomsday will make sure you watch Kevin Costner Robin Hood in the next Film Club round. I have seen bits and pieces of it. Not enough to form an opinion on it.

PhantomKnightNow that you have King of Kong out of the way you need to put Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves on the list. Now is it the greatest movie? No. Should you have watched it when you were younger? Absolutely. But it's pure 90s cinema, one of the most 90s 90s movies there is. It's Kevin Costner and Christian Slater at the absolute height of their popularity. And considering how big of a Harry Potter fan you are it's Alan Rickman in one of his best performances. He's just awesome here. I've seen it several, several times over the years and it's still very enjoyable. It's on Netflix right now, do yourself a favor, sit down and give it a go. Guaranteed you'll have a good time.

Guaranteed you'll have a good time. I've actually already seen it, back when I was in...my early high school years, I believe. But it was on a VHS copy my Mom happened to have, so not really an ideal format. Hearing about Alan Rickman's performance in that movie was actually one of the main motivating factors of why I watched it back then. Anyway, I remember enjoying it and especially Rickman's performance at the time, but that was the last time I saw it, so my memory of it is pretty hazy. Maybe that just means now's the perfect time to refresh my memory, though!
Neverending, I see the Taron Egerton version is available through my Cinemax subscription on Hulu. So perhaps I'll do a double feature of Prince of Thieves and that one sometime in the next few days.

The new one would just make Prince of Thieves look good. Prince of Thieves actually had sets, practical effects, period costumes and tried to at least somewhat convince you that it took place in the 13th century. Whoever thought the new Robin Hood would play well the way it's laid out needs to find a new job.

But the cast is fun. Your boy. What’s his face? The villain from Ready Player One. He’s the bad guy here too.

Thought a lot of the jokes were kind of hit and miss. But still a fun movie.

Thought a lot of the jokes were kind of hit and miss. But still a fun movie. Agreed. There are some genuine laugh out loud moments but equally as many awkwardly unfunny ones.

Oh yeah, I saw Men in Tights ages ago. Forgot about that one.
Remember almost nothing about it except the end where the king decrees that all toilets from now on shall be named "Johns." That was pretty good.

Disney's 1993 Three Musketeers movie, now THAT'S one I grew up with. Just the right amount of cheese mixed in with the adventure elements, plus you've got Tim Curry and Oliver Platt both delightfully chewing up the scenery around them. I still have my old VHS copy somewhere. Though, it is on Disney+, I believe.
