After Judi Dench stared into my soul in Cats (2019), I thought to myself, “it can’t possibly get worse than this.” Boy, was I wrong. There’s nothing more offensive than a movie that dares to waste your time and Free Guy was up to the challenge.
Ryan Reynolds, the most tryhard actor of our times, stars as a video game character that becomes self aware. You know, like the LEGO Movie, but without charm and creativity. Or like Wreck-It Ralph... but unfunny.
Fox-Disney could have invested the money in something we cared about, like a sequel to Call of the Wild. But noooooo, they gotta dump it on this tax write-off. We’re in a pandemic, and we just ask for a little joy in life, but no, life gives us coal. It gives us... Free Guy.
