Up until recently, it's seemed mostly pointless to release older media in modern formats such as Blu-ray or 4K because the original image quality would not be improved due to it's low resolution. Soon, this will no longer be as much of a factor. The use of neural networks is making it possible to upscale low quality footage into 4K footage.

Should old movies and TV shows be left as they are, should they only have the damage caused by media deterioration corrected, or should they be upscaled as far as technology will allow in order to appeal to a wider audience?
