I remember all of it. Spiderfreddie's mission to get Paul Walker cast as Superman, Bakerboy's stalker obsession with Michelle Pfeiffer...EVERYTHING.

Good times.

Spiderfreddie was probably the most legendary, because he would pop up every few months with a casting decision that would make you raise your eyebrow but he would not hear a word against, lest you be labeled a "Jackass" and your opinion wouldn't be worth listening to. I think his screenname was him fighting real hard for Freddie Prinz Jr. to be cast as Spider-Man, right? I think the last time I remember him popping up was in a Batman Begins forum, where he insisted the only person that could play Two-Face was Mario Van Peebles because he growled real well in Highlander 3.

Spider-Man Hype/Superhero Hype was a war zone of mid-puberty hormones and adult nerdy manchildren. That place was unforgettable. The most telling thing about it was the general chat section, which was less of a message board and more of a spammy chat room that would receive a hundred topics per day and bury almost everything substantial with "Whazzup?" or "Gess wat?"

Lol. Dew was like one of very few women on there. And in retrospect, you had to reflect on the ones that were there and shudder at what they put up with. More often than not if someone "came out" as a girl, almost immediately someone would respond "You hot?"

Speaking of notorious posters, and I'm not sure if I'm the only person remembering this guy, but on early CS there was some guy named The Bats who really hated the Burton Batman movies and would post like these really long rants about them. And when I say long, I mean really long, like he must have spent all day on them and they were enough to fill entire chapters of a Stephen King novel. I was young enough to not think much of him at the time, but as I get older I reflect on him and am like "Jesus fucking Christ dude."

Dew has a role in Spider-Man. No joke. She was the fat dude who gets hit by the lamb post.



Knerys and Rogue were both on SHH. It's because of them that I'm here. There used to be a website (or maybe there still is) called ComingSoon.COM that would just list all the upcoming movies. So whenever someone mentioned ComingSoon, I thought they were talking about that site and was confused as to why it would be mentioned so often and who this mysterious midget-porn loving Frizzo the Clown was. Then one day Knerys and Rogue ignited one of many SHH/CS Feuds and I found out about ComingSoon.NET.



I think I remember him or someone similar to him. My British pal Kevin Roegele (R.I.P.) and I, and a few other people, were hardcore Burton defenders and would go 12-rounds with these people. PG Cooper's Batman Returns videos owes a lot of credit to those early 2000's arguments/debates. The guy gives a co-writing credit to Dracula on a James Bond video but doesn't reach out to the people who spent countless hours forming the thesis to his Batman Returns video. I'd sue but like Jesus I turn the other cheek.

You preserved the legacy of those early 2000's arguments. I'll give you that.

You know who really pissed me off? Jett from Batman-on-Film. I used to love that dude. Gym teacher by day. Batman nerd by night. Then Warner Bros invites him to the premiere of Batman Begins and the dude did a 180 on the Burton films. The guy had the balls to say Batman Returns is as bad as the Schumacher movies. I was outraged and never again went to that guy's website. Although I was friends with him on MySpace and would see all his shilling for Warner Bros. Disgusting.

For the record, I like the Schumacher movies way more than Returns. But I'm me, so take that with a grain of salt.

I think Jett's always been upfront about not liking Returns all that much. I remember fequenting his website back when he was reporting news for Aronofski's Batman: Year One, and he gave 89 a B-, Returns a D-, and Forever a C+, while not bothering to review & Robin at all. But he became one hell of a Nolan cocksmoker when those movies came out.
