Starz has ordered 10 episodes of Ash vs The Evil Dead, which will be the long-awaited follow-up to Army of Darkness. Bruce Campbell will return as Ash and Sam Raimi will direct the first episode.

I was just coming in to post that. I am sold. Trailer looks great and so does Ash. Can't wait until October. This and The Walking Dead are going to make for a great fall TV season.

This was awesome. Bruce Campbell has the part nailed down, and the pilot hit all the right comedy and horror notes.
There is one really neat scene involving a lighting trick I found particularly good, but I'll wait until you guys see it to discuss.

Was busy Halloween night but definitely will be trying to watch this as consistently as I can. Critic reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, can't wait to check it out.

Too much Army of Darkness not enough Evil Dead. But it is consistent. If you like AOD you'll love it. Sad to say, I think I hate both. Surprisingly, this series is being made without the rights to Army Of Darkness, so it actually serves as a sequel to the first 2 Evil Dead films and takes Army Of Darkness out of the equation, but I get what you're saying. The horror aspects are still really good and a lot of fun, and the comedy's not too slapstick, like Army Of Darkness, so it's pretty much what I expected, and that's a good thing to me. |
