You mean Aquaman isn't better than Lawrence of Arabia?

Aquaman moves on to the finals, as expected. I think we all know the countless number of movies and filmmakers it has inspired, so it's only fitting that it will face off with one of it's greatest imitators, The Godfather: Part II.
Next battle up shortly.

Battle of the Decades
The Final Four
Champions League The Freewheelin' Fifties V. The Naughty Nineties
Team Coop and Dracula Seven Samurai 1950's ChampionSelected by: Cooper and Dracula Released: 1954 Directed By: Akira Kurosawa Who Directed: 9 Films in the 1950's Tomatoes/Meta: 100/98 Cinematography: Asakazu Nakai Score: Fumio Hayasaka Defeated: Sunset Blvd, Singin in the Rain, The Seventh Seal, Vertigo Siskel/Ebert:"The movie is long (207 minutes), with an intermission, and yet it moves quickly because the storytelling is so clear, there are so many sharply defined characters, and the action scenes have a thrilling sweep. Nobody could photograph men in action better than Kurosawa. One of his particular trademarks is the use of human tides, sweeping down from higher places to lower ones, and he loves to devise shots in which the camera follows the rush and flow of an action, instead of cutting it up into separate shots." - R. Ebert A Decade in Music:
Thoughts from the Team:Seven Samurai is still the benchmark of action-adventure filmmaking and is more generally everything I want in a movie. It's exciting, it tells a great story full of colourful characters, and the seemingly simple premise of warriors protecting a village masks a far more complex portrait of class division and violent consequences. This is why we go to the movies. - PG CooperVisual Enhancements:What Happened... in the 1950's:On September 12, 1953, Jacqueline Bouvier weds then-Senator John Fitzgerald Kennedy in Newport, Rhode Island. Their reception at Hammersmith Farm would host more than 1,200 guests. Lets Talk Kurosawa:Versus
Pulp Fiction 1990's Champion Selected by: Cooper and Dracula Released: 1994 Directed By: Quentin Tarantino Who Directed: 3 Films in the 1990'sTomatoes/Meta: 91/94 Cinematography: Andrzej Sekuła Score: N/A Defeated: Heat, The Silence of the Lambs, Unforgiven, The Big Lebowski Siskel/Ebert:"It is part of the folklore that Tarantino used to work as a clerk in a video store, and the inspiration for Pulp Fiction is old movies, not real life. The movie is like an excursion through the lurid images that lie wound up and trapped inside all those boxes on the Blockbuster shelves.” R.Ebert A Decade in Music:
Thoughts from the Team:Does this really require an explanation? One of the definitive movies of the 90s and one of the cleverest screenplays ever written. Tarantino weaves these disparate stories together expertly and in a way that's almost effortless (there's a reason you rarely hear anyone say they don't "get" the movie despite its chronological shenanigans). Beyond that Tarantino simply directs the movie with a ton of energy and confidence and creates a movie which is truly a blast chalk full of iconic scenes. - Dracula Visual Enhancements: What Happened... in the 1990's:In 1992, McDonald’s released their famous super size fries and drink. The upside option stayed on the menu until 2004, as the fast-food chain strived for healthier food choices. Lets Talk Tarantino:My Vote: Pulp Fiction

I think that'll do it. Ian sits this one out as Seven Samurai edges out Pulp Fiction in a classic to advance to the Finals. But before, we get to the big showdown, I'm going to be the 3rd/4th place matchup something I haven't done before. Fun Fact: One of our votes from last came from one of my real good pals on here, Doomsday. He voted for Seven Samurai! Thank you Doomsday!

Battle of the Decades The League of LosersRaiders of the Lost Ark1980's Champion, Decade's Semi-Finalist Selected by: Dooms and Snoborder Released: 1981 Directed By: Steven Spielberg Who Directed: 8 Films in the 1980's Tomatoes/Meta: 95/85 Cinematography: Douglas SlocombeScore: John WilliamsDefeated: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Die Hard, The Shining, The TerminatorSiskel/Ebert:" 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' is an out-of-body experience, a movie of glorious imagination and breakneck speed that grabs you in the first shot, hurtles you through a series of incredible adventures, and deposits you back in reality two hours later -- breathless, dizzy, wrung-out, and with a silly grin on your face. This movie celebrates the stories we spent our adolescence searching for in the pulp adventure magazines, in the novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs, in comics -- even in the movies." -R. EbertA Decade in Music:Thoughts from the Team:One of the most universally beloved movies ever made but whose quality is equal to its likability. If there's a movie with more iconic scenes than Raiders of the Lost Ark I'd like to hear it. -Doomsday Visual Enhancements:What Happened... in the 1980's:Best selling author Tom Clancy concludes a successful decade with the publication of Clear and Present Danger in 1989.
