We will move on as we await a tie breaker. Dooms and Sno, I will give you the opportunity to be the tiebreaker, if need be. Seeing as how you both voted differently this time around, I'll defer to you to try and make the call. If not, then I will make a final call.
Until then, we move on.

Well, I voted for Raging Bull and Doomsday voted for Amadeus so... But I mean come on, look at this scene. Amadeus is great, but this is one of the greatest scenes in movie history and Amadeus simply doesn't have anything in it on par with this: This scene alone is a masterclass in cinematic technique. A zolly shot into changing speeds/frames, beautiful use of atmosphere against a black background, the sound and flashes of the cameras going off, the final image of the blood dripping off of the rope (which they cut off here), De Niro taunting "You never got me down!" Just look at the editing happening here. This may very well be the greatest scene in Scorsese's career, even above the famous tracking shot in GoodFellas. Amadeus is a great movie, but it doesn't have a scene anywhere near this one from Raging Bull. Not even close.

But seriously I'm not going to go toe to toe with anyone in an Amadeus/Raging Bull matchup. I'll change my vote to keep things moving.
So donny, I submit Raging Bull as the winner.
And my vote for this current round is Unforgiven.

Raging Bull has tits, doesn't it? I can't remember.
Also Raging Bull has Joe Pesci.

This scene alone is a masterclass in cinematic technique. Amadeus is the only movie in which the climax is two dudes writing a piece of music.

Great scene. Not as good as the one from Raging Bull. You spend the whole movie watching Salieri have a one-sided feud with Mozart. You spend the whole movie watching Mozart act like a frat boy. It all culminates in this scene in which the two of them write one of the greatest pieces of music of all-time. A movie isn't a collection of scenes. It's a story told through a visual medium. Amadeus is one of cinema's greatest dick-measuring stories. And it's centered around the world of classical music. It creates drama in one of the last places you expect to find it. It's a masterclass in storytelling, acting, pacing/editing and music.

I think I'm going to stand with PhantomKnight this round and say Saving Private Ryan. I knew there was a reason I liked you. It's about time someone on this forum liked me. But just let it be known, if the final comes to Saving Private Ryan vs. Godzilla, my loyalties lie elsewhere.

If the final comes down to Saving Private Ryan vs. Godzilla then many things went horribly, horribly wrong.
