So, is Drac 12 Angry Men? Because Mad Men? Also does Ian's comment count as a vote?

I was staring at this pic going "wut" when I finally had that "Aha!" moment. Well played. Honestly, my first line of thinking was "Don is someone who throughout the show is looking for greater meaning in life. We don't really ever know what is real with him. I guess, in a way, you could call him a... Searcher. This is a definitely a vote for The Searchers." 3 hours later: "The name of the show, dumbass."

Yes, and I even took the time to make sure that was a picture from the 12th episode of the show.

Am I missing something?

Am I missing something? It was one of the harder ones to come up with in a while... there aren't that many pictures on the internet where exactly twelve males are perturbed.

I understand that voting for great movies over great movies is a tough call but 12 Angry Men beating The Searchers is one of the more absurd wins in this tournament.

The Searchers is great, but it's not like 12 Angry Men isn't a masterpiece. It's also the film that plays way better to modern sensibilities. That doesn't automatically make it better, but should definitely be a consideration.

It legit is one that the harder you look for the connection, the more confused you get. It wasn't until I said the name of the show in my head that I finally got it. "What the hell does Mad Men have to do with The Searchers and 12 Ang...ry?...ooooooooooooooooh..."

It's probably the best movie by one of America's most prominent filmmakers and also the best movie by one of Hollywood's biggest movie stars. It also dealt with racism and bigotry in ways that few movies did at the time, let alone westerns. Now I enjoy 12 Angry Men as much as the next guy but I expected The Searchers to get taken down by something with a little more heft like Bridge on the River Kwai. Then again Bridge on the River Kwai was beat by North by Northwest so there's no telling how the hell this tournament is going to go.

And 12 Angry Men is the greatest chamber drama of all-time, probably the best movie by Sidney Lumet (who has quite a few classics under his belt) and offers one of the definitive Henry Fonda performances. It also deals with racism and bigotry with more sophistication than its peers, including implicitly highlighting how such racism and bigotry is enacted in relation to criminal justice. Compare that to the corniness of dramas about race from the era and 12 Angry Men is leagues ahead. It's a small movie, but a masterfully crafted one.
