I can sit and rewatch Lawrence of Arabia at any time, it's one of those movies for me. Seven Samurai, I love the hell out of it but I don't think it falls into that category.

Not counting quarantine time, of course.

I wish! I'm just saying that if it were a Saturday at 10am or Wednesday at 8pm and someone turned on Lawrence of Arabia I'd sit and watch the whole thing, barring any natural disaster. Seven Samurai, well I dunno, I guess it would depend on my mood.

I think it's safe to call it, folks. While it's always tough to put an official end on things, the votes are in and the score has been tallied. Without further ado, our winner of the first Battle of the Decades goes to none other than.... SEVEN SAMURAI!!Congratulations are in order for Dracula and PG Cooper for edging it out in yet another Championship thriller. Special thanks to Doomsday and SnoBorderZero. Oh and Doomsday as well. I appreciate all 4 of your contributions to this tournament and I thank you for agreeing to help with the list of films on here.
As with the previous tournaments, I think there's a good chance we will see another incarnation of Battle of the Decades, so hang tight. Until then, I have 3 more tournaments planned out, which if they follow the timeline of the tournaments, should take us to around the end of the year.
For those interested, tournaments are as follows: - Favorite Performances of the Decade (2010's)
- The Quarantournament- I have compiled a list of films watched over quarantine. Said films will duke it out.
- Favorite Directors of the Decade (2010's)
Thanks.

Can't say I expected that, but I'm pleasantly surprised that Seven Samurai is our Champion (even if Lawrence of Arabia was my slight preference).

Neverending 1godzillafan IanTheCool PG Cooper thebtskink Doomsday Dracula PhantomKnight SnoBorderZero frankyt Deexan Sculder We're back folks. I plan on starting this up in the next few days, as I am finalizing some of the last match's and participants for the Performances of the 2010's. Just a few things before we start. - The number of participants in this will be 128, a step up from the traditional 64 team affair. When it comes to picking some of these roles, I found it harder and harder to limit to 64. When picking movies for these tournaments, there is usually a finite number of ones to choose from, based off the theme. But with acting, there can be, at times 2-3 performances that you may really like from 1 movie. Therefore we increase this to 128.
- Though this is a section on the boards primarily for movies, I will be incorporating a handful of roles from the world of Television. These are performances in slightly abbreviated roles, so we won't be seeing someone like Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad or Kit Harrington from Game of Thrones. The main reason I am including some performances from TV is mostly because as the 2010's progressed, I found myself watching TV shows less and less, and focusing more on movies. So my frame of reference for good TV is not that strong, and as a result, I wouldn't feel comfortable running something in the Television forum. Again, these are slightly abbreviated performances (We're probably talking 6-9 hours of screen time), and while it might not be a fair apples to apples battle, I ask that you indulge me here.
- I think the keyword of this tournament should be Favorite. These are my personal selections, and while I do think this will include a lot of roles that were met with critical or commercial acclaim, you may end up not seeing some performances that are your favorites or ones that you think are deserving of a spot in this tournament. As a result, you may feel that person was snubbed. I'll apologize ahead of time, as unfortunately, that's what happens in tournaments like this, and either way you slice it, someone may be left off that probably could have been included on here.
- I plan on doing my best to showcase all of the performances on here in either the form of video clips or written reviews to provide voters a frame of reference in the event that they are not familiar with the role or movie. My ask from a voting standpoint is based off what is provided, to make a selection from the choices I provide. Ultimately, I would love to get as many votes as possible, so again, if you haven't fully seen the performance, try and take what I can provide and make an educated pick.
- There are no limits to the amount of roles I will select per Actor. While I did my best to diversify the list of choices, there was nothing stopping me from including multiple roles from DiCaprio or Cate Blanchett.
I think that's all for now. I thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing everyone again on the battlefield.

I will be incorporating a handful of roles from the world of Television. In some cases it's valid. Claire Danes in Homeland and Jessica Chastain in Zero Dark Thirty are essentially the same character. And Danes wipes the floor with Chastain. I was a big supporter of Zero Dark Thirty (I recall lots of debates with Dracula which sadly I didn't get to rescue when the old boards shut down), but even I was disappointed with Chastain's lackluster performance. It was so lame compared to Danes. It was tough not to make the comparison.

These Are a Few of My Favorite ThingsNote: As I suspect for a few others on here, the 2010's was the first full decade I could consider myself an adult. During this time, my likes and interests grew and developed, not only in film, but all areas. In this space, I will present some of my favorite things from the 2010's, unrelated to the tournament, on both a national and local level.1. The National- Rock BandThe National is an American rock band of Cincinnati, Ohio natives, formed in Brooklyn, New York City in 1999. The band consists of Matt Berninger (vocals), Aaron Dessner (guitar, piano, keyboards), Bryce Dessner (guitar, piano, keyboards), Scott Devendorf (bass) and Bryan Devendorf (drums). Leaving behind their day jobs, the National signed with Beggars Banquet Records and released their third studio album, Alligator (2005), to widespread critical acclaim. The band's fourth and fifth studio albums, Boxer (2007) and High Violet (2010), increased their exposure significantly. In 2013, the band released its sixth studio album, Trouble Will Find Me, which was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. In 2017 the band released the album Sleep Well Beast, which won the Grammy award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.Song: Afraid of Everyone, Album- High Violet (2010)2.
