Sonic, using his rings, can teleport through worlds. He leaves his home and ends up on Earth, more specifically in Montana USA. He likes it there but is lonely. One day he’s having a particularly bad day and creates a power surge that alerts the government, but more specifically, Dr. Robotnik. Robotnik goes after Sonic, but with the help of James Marsden, he might have a shot to defend himself. Movie is okay. Kids will like it. Jim Carrey is okay. They turned Sonic into Quicksilver from Bryan Singer’s X-Men, slow-mo and all. Tails is in it ( SnoBorderZero) and possibly the Knuckles race of animals. They kinda hinted at that in the beginning, although maybe I was seeing things. They set up a sequel, so look forward to that since the movie will likely go well at the box office. |

Jim Carrey is more hilarious in this movie than he has been in years.

I can't tell if he's trolling me or not. I do hate in these kinds of movies instead of making it set in, you know, SONIC'S WORLD AND ALL, that they stick a bunch of human characters that have nothing to do with the IP and are generally just there for expositional purposes of "this is how we do things in OUR world!" Fuck that, I want a stupid story of Tails being captured and Sonic and Knuckles need to save him. Yeah, it'll suck too, but at least it's actually within the realm of the games. |

Technically it was better than Fantasy Island, but Fantasy Island was a glorious train wreck. And I really wish I had seen the alternate version of Sonic the Hedgehog with the crap design. That might have made this movie come close to being as memorably bad as Fantasy Island. |

It's okay. For a kids movie you can do so much worse. The slow mo scenes are pretty neat looking. Some jokes got me laughing for sure.
6/10 standard but for a kids movie.... Probs more like a 7.5

I watch Sonic and the Hedgehog movie by this early 2020. It's great movie. I remember when I was as a teenager. I play a old video games. So now, we have Sonic on my iPhone.
