You posting in a movie theater? NDA Doomsday joined the Academy after winning an Oscar for Ready Player One. Dude's watching an awards screener. He'll be frankyt's hookup this year. Leak those bad boys.

It's available on the internet. Was playing in a real small shitty theater at my local spot and place was rife with Sandler heads over Xmas break. Watched it again actually and still enjoyed myself.

This was my first Safdie Bro's film and I was totally blown away. From the opening sequence to the score to Adam Sandler's amazing performance, man this surprised the heck outta me. Ratner's on edge from the moment he's standing upright to the end of the movie and you're like right there with him. From all the idiot choices he makes, you still want to root for him for everything to go his way. Sandler was perfectly cast and seriously hope he gets recognized, but that comment he made, something along the lines like "If I dont get nominated, Im gonna put out more crap". He was joking but that might come back to bite him in the butt from the Academy's standpoint. But I really loved this damn movie.

If he gets nominated it might be like Stallone getting nominated a few years back. A lot of people were pulling for him, everyone loved his performance, giving him an Oscar seemed like a good bookend to one of the most popular characters in film history but I'm convinced a lot of Academy voters thought 'wait, we aren't really about to give Sylvester fucking Stallone an Oscar are we?' Lest you forget who won in that category that year it was Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies. Remember that movie? You can find it on IMDb if you don't. Anyways I would bet some people might think along those lines with the guy who starred in You Don't Mess With The Zohan.

Him winning over Joaquin Phoenix or Adam Driver will cause the internet to implode.

Stallone at least has one legitimate BP winning classic under his belt with Rocky while Sandler has been seen as a lowbrow hack since before he was even making movies.

That 9/11 movie had some buzz for Sandler a decade plus ago. I still think Sandler wins an Oscar before he dies.

I haven't seen Marriage Story or Joker yet, but would be surprised if Sandler isnt at least nominated for this.

As a Sixers fan It's safe to say I don't miss the majority of the players on this 2012 team, but I also enjoyed them being part of the plot in this flick.
This is a Sandman masterpiece, and it is one of, if not his best performance of his career. I'm already preparing myself for the inevitable Oscar snub in favor of some boring performance.
The movie is great too, maybe a little long. I think Good Time might be better, but this is right up there, and one of the best of the year.

Really great, heartbreaking movie. Sandler was good and reminded us he can act.
I'd give it a 9/10

At one point, Kevin Garnet sunk a basket and I reflexively fist-pumped. It was at that moment that I realized the Safdie Brothers really had their hooks in me.
I'll keep this review brief: Uncut Gems is awesome. The film is adrenaline and anxiety distilled in two hours as we watch Howard Ratner's gambling addiction and successive bad decisions build and build. The Safdies capture the feeling of gambling, with highs that positively soar and plateaus which are deeply upsetting. Adam Sandler's lead performance really lives up to the hype, with Howard's character really lending itself to Sandler's skill set and really bringing the best out in the man. The film on the whole is an incredibly entertaining watch, thrilling, often hilarious, and told with great style and flair from the Safdie Brothers. I am somewhat concerned that this film will lose a bit on rewatches knowing where the journey is going, but goddamn, what a ride.

The short has a great premise that I think they could've done more with, but it's certainly very much a Safdie Bros. work. They are so great at capturing New York, it's really impressive.
