Only if he takes on my list of Ed Wood movies. I've never seen an Ed Wood movie. Why do you think I'm doing this? Ed Wood is fun bad, so you should be good on this.

Everyone should see Plan 9 from Outer Space once.
It's awful and wears out its welcome very fast, but it's required viewing for cinephiles all the same. Plus it makes you appreciate Tim Burton's movie more.

Plus it makes you appreciate Tim Burton's movie more. Plan 9 is the big must see of his filmography. There is way too much of that movie that is wrongfully right and it's easily the funniest. I think the other two movies that are covered in Tim Burton's movie, Glen or Glenda and Bride of the Monster, are must sees if only to fully appreciate the Burton movie. I've also seen The Sinister Urge on MST3K, which is Ed Wood's attempt to demonize the porn industry before he started working in the porn industry. It's not the same level as the previous three, but it's still a "classic" Wood movie. I've also seen The Violent Years on MST and The Bride and the Beast on Rifftrax, both of which he wrote but didn't direct. You don't get the full on Ed Wood performances and production in these movies, but they're pretty funny too.

The only other one I feel like has some notoriety to it is Glen or Glenda, which I think I'd suffer through at some point. The thing is Plan 9 is there for you to laugh at and point out all the egregious continuity errors, the dismal use of Bela Lugosi test footage and then having another actor shield their face with a cape the rest of the movie, the awful effects and acting, etc. It's a bit different watching Glen or Glenda, an awful movie in its own right to be fair, because I don't feel like I should be or want to laugh at Ed Wood's sexual identity crisis.

Burton's movie only covered about half the things that made Glen or Glenda a very odd movie. The Glen story is very strange and it takes up the majority of the movie, but the movie digresses hard into the final act telling another story as the film tries to be an instructional film about the trials of the LBGTQ community, even though, despite being a crossdresser, Wood doesn't seem to quite fully be able to relate. There is also a very long and very strange dream sequence that beefs up the runtime. That movie is all over the place, while Plan 9 and Bride of the Monster at the very least maintain a focused narrative.

I guess I should also ask IanTheCool and donny if they want in as well. Donny, just because I'm selfish did you have a round 199 review nearby? The PropositionThe 2005 Australian Western directed by John Hillcoat stars a pretty impressive cast, most notably Guy Pearce, Danny Huston and Ray Winstone. The movie is about the Burns gang, comprised mainly of 3 brothers, 2 of which are played by the aforementioned Pearce and Huston. Winstone plays the Captain of the town where Pearce and the 3rd brother, Mikey currently reside. Huston's character Arthur is in hiding, and of the 3 brothers, he is the most wanted for some pretty heinous crimes, so when Winstone arrests Mikey, he gives Charlie (Pearce) an ultimatum: Find and kill Arthur, and Charlie and Mikey can go free. I think this is a movie that does a lot of things well, namely showcasing the brutality that can come from on the Western front. It's well shot with some beautiful cinematography and I feel the performances are all pretty good. It was nice to see Winstone play somewhat of a good person ultimately, as I'm used to his roles in The Departed. It really sets you up in the beginning to think his character is a bad man after the opening frames, but that's not really the case. Pearce is very understated and subdued in this, but it works. The Proposition seems to suggest that the only real bad member of the Burns gang is Huston's character Arthur. There might be more of a grey area with Charlie, but it seems pretty clear in what is saying about Mikey, that he is more innocent, and a product of his environment. As an audience member, you certainly sympathize with Mikey, especially during a pretty pivotal scene midway through. However, part of the premise is built around Charlie wanting to protect and save Mikey, but I don't think the relationship is developed enough between the two. They are together in the beginning and later on in the movie, but I would have liked to see more screen time with the two. I'm not always a huge Danny Huston guy, but he's pretty good in this, with that interesting Irish sounding accent he has here. There is some good stuff between him and Pearce when they interact, which I liked. It was also nice because I half expected this to be a film where Pearce and Huston won't interact until the end in some ultimate showdown, but that's not really the case. As the film progresses, I feel there are some scenes that felt a little too easy or predictable, one of which involving Charlie being kidnapped by John Hurt (!!!), who plays a bounty hunter in search of Arthur. Nonetheless, this is an uncompromising, bleak Western that doesn't pull any punches and displays its violence in a very matter of fact manner. 7/10

The GunfighterAny film that co-stars Karl Malden gets an immediate +5 scoring bonus in my book.
The Gunfighter stars Gregory Peck as Jimmy Ringo, an aging gunman who after killing someone in a bar, is forced to be on the run as the brothers of the deceased are on his tail for some revenge. This leads him to the town Cayenne, where his former lover and son happen to be. Oh, and Mr. Malden, playing the role of a bartender. He's a beast.
As many of you have already pointed out, this is a very slim movie, running short of 90 minutes. As a result, it doesn't feel as fleshed out as it nearly should be. But it is great to see Peck in a Western, and while I admit, it took me some time warming up to him in this role, he ultimately brings it home and is pretty compelling throughout.
Again, as you guys have said, this does seem to be an anti-Western, or at film concerned with looking at the role of a gunslinger through a different lense. It's easy to see the impact something like this would have on future films such as Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven (Battle of the Decades Quarter-Finalist), which in case you were wondering, does not star Karl Malden.
It does start to come together in the last half of the movie, and the ending feels honest and doesn't cheapen anything. It sets up your expectations and doesn't veer away from them. There is also something of a quiet sense of confidence about Ringo's character, particularly how he is unquestionably the best gunman most people know of or seen. It talks some shit on Jimmy's contemporaries, including Wyatt Erp, which if nothing else, made me laugh. I did also find funny that Peck's character is an "older" gunman, with his best days behind him and yet at one point, they say his age is what, 35? But I guess back in those times, that was a fairly older age.
Lastly, I will say, it was great he finally gets to see his wife Peggy, but man, Ringo should have been going after the other girl Molly. She was sexier, and the two of them had better chemistry than he did with Peggy.
Score adjusted for Karl Malden: 12/10 Score adjusted for not pursuing Molly- 8/10
Final score-7/10
In for next round.

PhantomKnight not a troll pick! This movie is genuinely good. I do actually really wanna see One Cut of the Dead, but I think I gotta go Plan 9. In its own way, it is an iconic classic I've never gotten around to. Plus I think my brother owns a DVD. Now, my pick for you was gonna be Roman Holiday, but re-reading your post, you mentioned saving it as a rainy day movie. So while I'm still gonna offer it as recommendation, I understand if you wanna keep that in your backpocket for now. To that end, here's some other options: The Muppet MovieCriss CrossMysterious Skin (CW: Sexual abuse) Lost in AmericaFrankenweenieLet me know if you need more options.
