It's an interesting use of the fledgling technology, but it's not very convincing. The shape of the head and especially the jawline is all Arnold. In a few more years, once all the bugs have been worked out of the deep fake technology, I've no doubt that it will be nigh impossible to tell the difference when it's done by someone who really knows what they're doing.

Another good one, but it suffers from the same problems, and a couple that I didn't notice in the Sly/Terminator one. The skin tones don't always match, especially in that first shot. Also, there's a sort of flicker on Jim's face, kinda like how a TV screen looks when it's seen in a movie, but much faster. I suspect it's more obvious because the room is so much brighter than the biker bar.

It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

Would've worked better with Malkovich.

I peered into the vastness and saw nothing. Felt nothing.

Still, far more efficient and far less expensive than what they've been doing in Hollywood for de-aging and recreations. This would have been a much greater use for Rogue One, for example (and of course the notorious Superman mouth). It's crazy how quickly it's developed. Just a mere couple years too early.
There definitely doesn't seem to be much excuse for the studios to continue spending millions on CG when it can be done this convincingly and for much cheaper. While these aren't perfect by any means, if you had studio funding and a larger group of people working on it, this technology could be scary real very soon.

My personal history with Cosplay is a bit odd. The first time I ever went to a sci-fi convention was in the late 80's. Star Trek: TNG was all the rage, and there were a number of fans in costumes ranging from basic TNG Starfleet uniforms to Klingons in heavy prosthetics. At the time, I looked down on them as the sort of hopeless nerds Shatner was yelling at on SNL. My opinion stayed pretty much the same on the matter for about a decade. When it did finally change, it was only to viewing cosplayers as simply being mostly harmless. I didn't view them with scorn anymore, but that's about all. Over the past ten years or so, my family has turned me around on the whole thing. I still don't cosplay myself really, but I've made a number of costumes of various complexity for the kids. A foamcore Clone Trooper costume. A fiberglass Predator helmet. Artemis and Cheshire from Young Justice. The hardest one was a Master Chief armor from Halo. The only costumes I've ever worn personally were characters who wear regular, if distinct, clothing like Baby Driver. I've toyed with the notion of building a complex outfit for myself, but I'm just not willing to be the dad-bod version of a character. Unless/until I lose the weight, I'm not going to go to that much effort.

Don’t worry. Frizzo the Clown is more than happy to be the dad-bod version of any character.

The last thing I expected to find in my YT feed today was a Brazilian car commercial, but I'm so glad I did!

I couldn't help but notice that there were only two shots from the Prequels era in that entire video. Kevin Smith holding a bongsaber got as much screen time as the Prequels, and that's just fine.
