There are some directors cuts out there which add some scenes while removing others. The "directors cut" for Alien (which was made for commercial reasons and which Ridley Scott says is inferior) is a couple minutes shorter. There are other examples out there, I think the Blood Simple director's cut maybe, then there's also stuff like the narration being taken out of Blade Runner. |
