You are mistaking your own sensibilities for those of the general public. The average moviegoer doesn't give a damn about seeing anything new or thought provoking. They want familiar characters in familiar situations with predictable outcomes. Anything else requires them to think, and they have a hard time thinking and shoving popcorn in their mouths at the same time. |

I agree that the general movie audience doesn't necessarily care for new plot ideas in comics, I think the hero saving something/somewhere/someone, has potential to continue as a storyline forever, I just hesitate to jump on board with the notion that super heo movies can get even better than they are now because of the rich history. Yes, lots of stories to choose, I don't know if the new car smell will be gone, a new trendy film genre emerges and super hero flicks will still be popular, just not the dominate pescence they are now.

Or it will still be called "Avengers: Infinity War". They didn't call Age of Ultron "Avengers 2".
Still curious, though, since the the next Avengers movie after that is still slated only a year later (although that could possibly change).

Infinity War 1 & 2 seemed more like placeholder titles in the first place, so this announcement isn't that big a deal. Besides, the initial announcement of the titles was years ago, and plans change. We've already seen the elimination of The Inhumans movie, and that title was originally scheduled to be released before Infinity War part 2. A great deal of other things have changed since the initial plan was made. Guardians of the Galaxy was more successful than expected, the Fant4stic crashed and burned, and Spider-Man ceased being a competitor and instead became available to the MCU.

Avengers--- Fall Of Evil. The one time Marvel did something like that was in their Ultimate Marvel crossover Ultimatum, and everybody hated it. Sales figures for the Ultimate line were consistently the highest Marvel had until that point. In the Ultimatum series, much of the planet is decimated by an attack that leaves many of the high profile heroes dead, while the survivors must step to the forefront to put an end to it. That storyline was the beginning of the end for the Ultimate Marvel Universe. It was an interesting experiment, and Marvel could afford to take the risk because it didn't take place in the mainstream Marvel Universe. The experiment was a total failure, but the result was only the cancellation of a few comics titles which could be easily replaced with something else. Marvel Studios isn't going to risk the security of one of the most profitable movie franchises in film history on an idea that has already been proven not to work. |

Well Dr Strange kinda can take a being too anywhere in time right. I think the Avengers need too lose and make it seem there is either only so much time or just a few people left to face thanos enter The Guardians aide.

What i mean is there a way where The Avengers lose but somehow in the movie they lets say get a 5 hour or maybe a 2 hour restart over where they get another chance to save earth.In a movie i would love too see Avengers deal with copies of other avengers. Kinda Like Civil War only we have like a concept where the Avengers are cloned or are fakes.
