People were shocked at how well the 2014-15 TV season was doing - but - there's always gonna be a victim and we finally have that victim. ABC's Manhattan Love Story, you know, the lead-in to Agents of SHIELD on Tuesday nights just got cancelled. Selfie, the other Tuesday night comedy, will be airing back-to-back episodes for the time being. Oh, and Honey Boo Boo on TLC also got cancelled but that has nothing to do with ratings. The mom on that show is apparently in a relationship with a convicted child molester and that takes reality television to a new level that people can't handle.

I gave up on Gotham and Gracepoint after only one episode of Grace, and three episodes of Gotham. But so far everything else on my queue still has my interest, so I'm surprised. By this time last season, I'd had already stopped watching half of the new lineup I started on.

No more Franklin & Bash. TNT has decided not to renew it for a 5th season. But... everyone was expecting that, even the writers, and the show did get a proper finale. Granted, there was also a bit of a cliffhanger - just in case - but there was closure.

You know....that show would have found its audience if the network would fucking let it. -_- ABC is turning into Fox. I still laugh about how they cancelled "Apartment 23" after like 2 seasons and then the show becomes a huge hit on Netflix. People criticize NBC, but at least they give certain shows a chance. The Office, Chuck, Community, and Parks & Rec would have been cancelled almost immediately at another network. Shit... Seinfeld or Cheers wouldn't have lasted long at another network either. |

I think it might have lasted longer if it wasn't called 'Selfie.' It could have been the best reviewed show of all-time and I still don't think I would have given it the time of day because of its title.

A lot of classic shows wouldn't have lasted in this environment. The Office wasn't popular it's first season. In a very un-NBC move, NBC stuck with it. I have never really understood cancelling a show without even giving it at least one season. I watched A-Z. It was okay to have on in the background, but not something I would ever want to sit down and devote my full attention to. Selfie was surprising. It actually had a little depth to it. But I agree with whoever said that the name put people off. It did me at first, and a few other people I talked to as well. Networks just want immediate hits, and that doesn't happen very often. |
