Man finding the right noise on a noise machine is so hard.
None of the nature sounds are any good - why do they even offer those sounds? It's always like fan 4 that's any good, or white noise number 6 or something.
If you're house is a sweatbox or just excess moisture, I recommend a dehumidifier. Older the better (new ones that look like a PC tower will die within 5 years) those things just keep humming for straight hours. Empty it every night guaranteed not to have it stop on you.
All this tinnitus talk has reminded me to def bring my plugs to the coming shows though.

It typically needs to just be a consistent noise for me, so fan sounds, aircraft wind, or general brown noise is good. If there's occasional pops or taps, it'll wake me right up, so more often than not, I can't do rain (definitely not with random thunder) or fire. Nature/forest/jungle is out too, with the occasional bird tweets and whatnot. However something like a waterfall is fine:

We got a white noise machine for my kid when she first came home now I use it all the time just for me. I'll see if I can find out what brand it is if you want to take a look.

Yeah, that would be great!
Thanks everyone. I know this sort of thing is probably pretty common, but its nice to know I'm not alone.

Denver in July airbnb I think. Selecting the accomodations by the end of the weekend, everyone took the Thursday to Monday off though.
Breweries, hikes, a red rocks show. (I'll be looking for a Bungie jump somewhere near by though if I can squeeze it in.)
Never been much of a stripper guy but my one buddy certainly is so I'm expecting at least one night of traditional entertainment. More than half the party is married with children though so gives it a little more oomph to make it a fun one. How often will they or I go on a vacation again with just the fellas?

Oh shit my brother lives in Denver! A plan is forming...
I'm not much of a strip club guy either but the very first wedding I ever went to I was the best man and we were all 23 or 24. Most of us didn't have much interest in strip clubs but we thought we had to go out of obligation. We got very, very drunk beforehand and I ended up being talked into going into the private room. I had no idea what do to, how much it cost and all that but after some goading from the other guys the groom and I went in each with our own lady. Well fast forward half an hour, I was told how much it cost, how much the tip was and that there was a 2 drink minimum and each drink conveniently cost about $30. All in all it was like $400 (no idea if that's average or what) which is like $10,000 when you're 23 and making peanuts. The next morning I woke up and found out my credit card had been frozen for 'suspicious activity' and I had to borrow money from everyone the rest of the weekend which they all really liked as you could guess.

My wife made a Mickey Mouse cake. 6 year old son asked if he can eat the eyes.
Should we be locking our bedroom door at night?! lol

It's starting to sink in that when I watch Jackass Forever tonight it will likely be the best movie of 2022 so far.

Not a lotta chatter on the Olympics... Anyone watching?
That guys star wars routine was hilarious last night. I mean the music was quite the selection.

That's interesting why do you think summer games are more fun?
Especially where you live would assume winter games are the greater draw.

Dang, it's been almost a year since he last posted. It's cliche but it's scary how fast time goes by the older you get. I was looking at Letterboxd earlier and was thinking 'It's been 2 years since I watched that movie? Holy lord.'

The summer games just seem to have a larger breadth of events and tends to be in bigger and more interesting cities and just generally feels like the Olympics that matters to me.
