Sometimes I hate the internet...or at least the internet at work. So slow. It told it was going to take 3 days to download a 30 second video. It's not usually this slow, but it still happens a lot.

Oh wow, Birdman is playing by me now. Nightcrawler last night, now this. When did the middle of Wisconsin finally start getting lesser known films? Where was this when I was in high school and college?
To be fair, I'm 15 minutes from Milwaukee now. I lived in a shit city in high school and a town in the middle of nowhere in college, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Enjoy that East Side Livin! Well I used to live in a city that was mostly blue collar factory types, population about 40,000. Then I lived in a far, far smaller town in college, population around like... 12,000 when school is in session. So yeah, it's not New York or LA or something, but this is definitely big city living compared to what I'm used to. It's nice going to places that are open past 9pm. |

When I bought costumes I feel like I'd buy at least a month in advance. Then again, my costumes didn't really come from Halloween stores. They usually came from "adult" stores. If I remember correctly their policy was something like "we have what we have, we won't order any more for the store, but you can special order if you want and hope it gets here on time".
Now I'm just old and hate most things, so I don't dress up for Halloween and the kids in the neighborhood know better than to hit me up for candy.

I only get like 40 trick or treaters. That's it. What with all the "trunk or treats" going on (at the zoo, at shopping centers, trick or treating at the mall, etc.), it seems like no one actually takes their kids around the neighborhood anymore. When I was a kid, sure, getting a lot of candy was the goal, but half the fun was hanging out with friends, walking around the neighborhood, and showing of my costume to the neighbors. Now, kids just seem to be shuttled through a crowded cattle call where you can't tell one kid from another just to get the whole thing over as quickly as possible.

We had plans for our daughter but she got a cold and we had to dial them back unfortunately. I think she had fun, got some candy and visited family. She will love the pics down the road.

Has anyone else seen Live from Daryl's House? Daryl Hall from Hall and Oates interviewing someone then a jam of their songs and his.I hate this weird hipster influx of Hall and Oates love as much as anyone else, but you can't deny Hall is talented as hell. It's real fun.
