If Speed were turned into a 10-episode HBO/Netflix series, the first episode would be the elevator one with the ending setting up the bus plot. Episode 2 through 9 would be on the bus but they would focus more on the interpersonal relationship of the passengers than the action. And episode 10 would be the subway. Season 2? Cruise Control.

What makes the movie work is the chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, but that's true of any success buddy cop movie. The action scenes and Michael Bay cinematography don't hurt either. But I was never a fan of the switching identities plot line.

Bad Boys 1 is okayish. The cast works but the movie just doesn't stick out to me. Bad Boys II, while technically terrible, is a lot more memorable.
