Knerys, don't be afraid to post Post. No with my last post, I didn't actually check to see if what I was responding to was the last post, so my response was irrelevant. I'llI put something up later.

In spite of its popularity it did not influence other movies going forward and is therefore not important. Are you seriously gonna turn a blind eye to all the times Grease has been referenced in other movies, TV shows, music videos, and even fashion? Meanwhile... name me 5 people you know in real life who have seen Days of Heaven. Changing, again, to Drunken Master Why Drunken Master and not Snake In The Eagles Shadow? I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just curious. Is it because it got a sequel? Or because of the fighting style? Or some other reason?

The fighting style is very unique and imitated, it's the more well regarded of the two, and I don't think that movies like Shaolin Soccer or Kung Fu Hustle get made if not for Drunken Master.

Are you seriously gonna turn a blind eye to all the times Grease has been referenced in other movies, TV shows, music videos, and even fashion? Meanwhile... name me 5 people you know in real life who have seen Days of Heaven. This tactic again? Let's see, I know my friend Rob has it in his collection, my ex-girlfreind Carrie and my high school friend Jesse both saw it (I showed it to them), my uncle Owen (who's told me about seeing a lot of the classics from the 70s in the theaters) has most likely seen it, and I had a co-worker named Dan at a previous job who I know liked Malick and had almost certainly seen it. So that's five. Is that proof enough for you of the movie's importance?

Grease was a pop culture phenomenon and it's songs are still sung in every karaoke bar across America at least once a night. Although it's a timeless classic of a film, I think it was more important and more influential as a stage production.

Soooo Superman, Halloween, Dawn of the Dead, and Animal House seem like locks. Should we vote for a fifth entry?

Drunken Master - 3 votesDays of Heaven - 2 The Deer Hunter - 2 Grease - 2 Watership Down - 2 Invasion of the Body Snatchers - 1 Anyone else wanna support Jackie Chan? This is literally the only time he has a shot at making a list. Unless you REALLY think Police Story has a shot in the very crowded 1985 or is someone planning some shenanigans with Rumble in the Bronx since it qualifies for both 1995 and 1996? Also, some acknowledgement for Cheech & Chong would be nice. Everyone was quick to vote for The Big Lewbowski, but that movie - and other stoner classics - wouldn't exist without Cheech & Chong.

We have Superman. The list at this point seems to be Superman, Halloween, Dawn of the Dead, Animal House, and now Drunken Master.

I'll bite my tounge and support Drunken master if and only if the alternative is Grease, however, I still think it's a mistake. The movie might have been Jackie Chan's breakout but I don't think it's overly representaive of his work or of what martial arts movies were like in the late 70s.

The movie might have been Jackie Chan's breakout but I don't think it's overly representative of his work or of what martial arts movies were like in the late 70s. There's no other Jackie Chan movie that has a realistic chance of making a list. And it would be really silly if no Jackie Chan movies are represented in this thread.
