That was pretty blah. Directionless, self-indulgent, and boring.

I did feel a slump in the middle but I still liked it - let's see where it goes next week.
I was intrigued with the appearance of Davros, although this is a different sort of Davros than in the past.
EDIT: Ahh that's it. No throat microphone to enhance his damaged voice (TARDIS Wiki) and I guess after losing control of the Daleks a couple of times that would make someone disappointed in his own defeat.

Well, I really liked that one. I think the story redeemed itself in the conclusion. I am really warming up to Missy - they started her off poorly last season but She is very good once she gets going. And as far as Davros and the Daleks go - the more things change the move they remain the same - half Timelord huh? I think I know what Missy has in mind.
I also like the fact that he ditched the Sonic Screwdriver again - the thing had become sort of a do all tool to save the day - too often used.

I watched the first two of the season last night. I enjoyed the callbacks to The Doctor's previous times on Skaro, particularly the interiors and exterior of the Dalek city from the original appearance of The Daleks. It's fun to see such a mix of different Dalek designs all working together. I also can't help but notice that there was no sign of the New Paradigm Daleks anywhere on Skaro. The story itself could have used a bit more action, but it was still enjoyable.
I'm curious to see how long the writers can go without the sonic screwdriver. Despite Missy's statement that she's never seen The Doctor go without one before, that's not at all true. The Fifth Doctor managed just fine without one, and had constant run ins with The Master.

Oh sure, they won't do a show about The Paternoster Gang, but they'll do this... Doctor Who / 1 Oct 2015 Doctor Who Spinoff, Class, Announced By BBC 396 It's slated to premiere in 2016. By Terri Schwartz The world of Doctor Who is expanding beyond the TARDIS. BBC announced that a spinoff series, called Class, is coming from executive producers Steven Moffatt, Brian Minchin and young adult author Patrick Ness, who is showrunning the show. In a post on BBC's blog, the network revealed the series will include eight 45-minute episodes. It will set in contemporary London at Coal Hill School, a recurring setting in Doctor Who. BBC teases that "incredible dangers are breaking through the walls of time and space, and with darkness coming, London is unprotected." Season 9 Trailer 00:59 "I'm astounded and thrilled to be entering the Doctor Who universe, which is as vast as time and space itself," Ness said in a statement. There's so much room there for all kinds of amazing stories, and to work with Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin to find a place to tell one of my own has been an absolute joy. I can't wait for people to meet the heroes of Class, to meet the all-new villains and aliens, to remember that the horrors of the darkest corners of existence are just about on par with having to pass your A-Levels." Moffat, who currently serves as showrunner on Doctor Who and Sherlock, said, “No one has documented the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager like Patrick Ness, and now we're bringing his brilliant story-telling into Doctor Who. This is growing up in modern Britain -- but with monsters!” This isn't the first time Doctor Who has gotten a spinoff. Two other notable companion series are The Sarah Jane Adventures, which starred former Who companion Elisabeth Sladen and ran from 2007 to 2011, and Torchwood, which starred John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness and ran from 2006 to 2011. Class is set to start filming in and around Wales in spring 2016, and is slated to premiere later on in the year.

I'll be watching the latest episode tonight after work. I'm still enjoying Capaldi's Doctor. Not really enjoying the sonic sunglasses that much, hopefully it doesn't last the whole season.

This show is going downhill fast. They're scraping the bottom of the barrel for episode ideas, the screwdriver is now SUNGLASSES, and now the Doctor is talking to the camera with an electric guitar...

Mediocre season for the most part. Mostly uninspired scripts, but some good moments.
I think Capaldi is doing a better job with the character and I do like Missy, Clara and Me going off in their own TARDIS was an interesting way to wrap things up for them.
We have River Song to look forward to in the Chistmas special, then I hope they get their act together for something solid next year. At least they won't have to worry about tying up loose ends and can start fresh.

I believe this is Capaldi's last season. (At least I heard he was only going to do one more)
Tonight Season 10 starts with an episode entitled "The Pilon" 9PM Eastern on BBCAmerica.
Followed by a spinoff called Class

I think over all this was Capaldi's best season. I liked the characters, they're not the Paternoster Gang, but they were good.
Christmas Special should be interesting
