Disney+ has most of the wes anderson films now, so I've begun the dive.

Really? I didn’t think they were going to put R-rated movies on there.

Really? I didn’t think they were going to put R-rated movies on there. Not in the States. Y'all are stuck with Hulu. Everywhere else they've introduced Star for their more grown-up movies. Wes Anderson, Spike Lee, Michael Mann, even fucking Borat.

Foreign Disney+ (a.k.a Star) has Alien, but the edited-for-TV version, which pissed off the Internet this weekend. Oh really? The chest bursting scene was heavily edited. I don’t recall Alien being particularly gory, but that scene immediately stood out to people as watered down, and comparing it to the blu-ray confirmed those suspicions. Then again... I think Ridley Scott did a Director’s Cut for Alien... so who knows.

Hbomax only has the original cut of little shop of horrors.
Does suck when the streamers pick the wrong version.

I think that was just a special feature for the DVD/Blu-Ray. I don’t think that’s the “official version” of the movie. But I could be wrong.

Theatrical cut is also included. But I get what frankyt means. I want all 100 versions of Blade Runner available on streaming sites.

So I've been going through wes anderson's filmography again, so I thought I would quickly post my thoughts so far.
Isle of Dogs - this one has grown on me more the second go-around. Fun characters, fun animation. Everything off the island as still kind of lame.
Royal Tenenbaums - I really gained a new appreciation for this film, and I recognize now that it is for sure Anderson's best. I'll be picking it up next Criterion sale for sure.
Fantastic Mr. Fox - The animation is great as are the characters. Its a lot of fun, but I don't know if it goes beyond fun really.
Grand Budapest Hotel - This one actually dropped slightly for me. There were a lot more slow parts than I remember, and some tonal inconsistencies. The jail break is great though.
Moonrise Kingdom - I appreciate it, but it doesnt really hold anything special. I probably won't bother watching it again.
Bottle Rocket - I still really like it. He is clearly working on finding his style, but I enjoy the exploration. Owen Wilson is hilarious. Great time.
Rushmore - Not a big fan of this one. Don't like Max, and the movie overstays its welcome.

Tenenbaums is hands down his masterpiece.
But I'm still very much a life aquatic fan, I understand it is quite divisive.

Just rewatched Darjeeling Limited. Much better on a rewatch. I know this is considered by many his weakest, but it just really worked for me this time around. I found the relationship between the brothers funny and poignant.

I still love Rushmore, one of my favorites of his. Agreed that Tenenbaums is the best. There's a couple of his I need to re-watch, namely LA and FMF.
Grand Budapest has held up for me, though. I think that's probably top 3-4 of his for me.

Rushmore and Tenenbaums are easily my two favourites. After that it gets tricky.

I'm not seeing what you see in Rushmore. What stands out to you? I think the film hits a really good balance of having a protagonist who is fun to watch while also being distant enough to realize that he's an ass who isn't nearly as smart or charming as he thinks he is and that makes the drama more poignant and the jokes funnier. That's the other thing, I think Rushmore is mad funny. I laughed so much on my recent viewing. Love the soundtrack too, and the supporting cast is stacked.

One of my favorite Anderson lines is from Moonrise Kingdom.
'Day one of the search. Morale is extremely low.'
