Demon Squad is for free on Tubi, so Neverending has probably already seen it. I just watched the first five minutes so far. It's kinda fun, TBH. It's a bit cheekier than I'd like from a MST movie, but I think the puppets and make-up are charming. |

Looks like there was no need to worry about the Kickstarter, as it appears as though it's going to be fully funded. It's at 94% as of this posting, with 26 hours to go.

I was completely out of the loop for the first Kickstarter. What can we expect from them exceeding the final goal? I assume it's entirely up to Joel & Company. |

Yep, we've been killing it today, and we're going to post bigger numbers tomorrow. It's looking like we'll top six million by the time it's over. I was completely out of the loop for the first Kickstarter. What can we expect from them exceeding the final goal? I assume it's entirely up to Joel & Company. During the last Kickstarter we hit 5.5 million before the telethon started (we're probably going to do it again) and when it looked like that was the case, Joel updated that morning adding a Christmas special as a goal if we raised an additional 300k. We swept right past that early in the telethon, so he had to rush to the bosses at Shout Factory to see if they could add a fourteenth episode, which was made with seconds to spare and became At the Earth's Core. I'm not too certain that's going to be our goal again, because apparently the Gizmoplex is to release one MST episode a month, which means 12 episodes might be the ceiling for a season unless they find they can sustain more. Joel says he has a "secret surprise" for us if we top 5.8 million though. Not sure what it is, but I'm excited! |

The ones they use are all public domain as far as I know, so they're cheaper to make. I suspect the only reason they don't go with public domain movies as well is that most of them are black & white, with bad picture and sound quality. Besides, I suspect the rights holders of movies like Demon Squad are just happy that their movies are finally going to be seen by a lot of people, and are being very reasonable about the price. I see that the telethon starts at 5pm Central tomorrow. Looks like I'm going to have to cut out of work early. |

Wild Eye does seem like a company that buys movies that just want exposure. They're the company that released Ouija Shark, if I remember right. I think they're open for business to any streamer who will hand them money. So if Joel and Shout are doing business with them that means Ouija Shark has a legit shot at winding up on MST. That kinda makes me happy.
More shorts would be fun, though they're relatively cheap to do and I'm not sure we'd need all that extra money for them. I'd like to see the money maybe tee up a fourteenth season, or maybe set up a KTMA download area in the Gizmoplex and use the funds to secure some rights.

We're currently tailing 5.7 as I speak. I'm going to project that we hit 6.4 by the time it's over.

Thirteenth episode goal confirmed, but it's only if we top the 6.34 million total from 2015. I have a gut feeling we'll get there.
