I've little doubt that these actors have been approached about roles in at least one of the DC movies on the slate, but I'm not ready to read any more into it than that. With so many titles on the schedule, most of the Hollywood A-list who isn't already taken by Marvel is going to get a call from WB about a DC movie, or vice versa.

Smith would be a get for Suicide Squad, but of all the DC properties out there, I don't see that one being the one he's attracted to. Suicide Squad is going to need an ensemble cast, and Will Smith hasn't done one of those since Independence Day. Then again, who knows? He may have decided to rethink how he chooses roles due to the disappointing box office and general backlash of After Earth.

There's rumors that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor might appear in Suicide Squad. That makes sense. I can easily see Luthor as being the movie's main antagonist. Several members of the Squad have probably worked for him in the past, so there's potential for insider information as well as being a turncoat who betrays the team to Luthor at an inopportune moment. |

Sounds like Robbie was confirmed for Harley Quinn last night. That should be good. Not really. The claim is not that Margot has been cast as Harley. The claim is that Robbie is in negotiations to play Harley. Just last month, Robbie was in negotiations to play Major Kusanagi in the live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. She decided against it, and now they're looking at Scarlett Johannsen. Nothing is confirmed. That said, taking the role of Harley would be a great career move for Robbie. Certainly better than joining Ghost in the Shell, considering how incredibly bad the track record of anime/manga adaptations from Hollywood are. |

Sure enough. That's what I get for getting the report second hand. One of the movie news Youtube channels I subscribe to stated that the Collider claim was only regarding negotiations. I hope it's true. It's going to be interesting to see how this DCCU is going to turn out. |

Even though Die Hard 5 sucked, I don't blame Jai Courtney for that. He's a good choice for Deadshot.
If this casting does pan out, I'd have to say that the odds of Will Smith signing on to the Suicide Squad are awfully slim. Deadshot is traditionally the team leader out in the field, which would mean that whoever Will Smith might play on the team would be taking orders from him. While I can see Will Smith playing a member of a team, I can't see him being willing to play an underling on that team to Jai Courtney. He will want to be the leader.
