I still really wish they hadn't revealed the wight dragon until that last episode. It would have been epic if we didn't know exactly what they were up to as they lined up to the wall, and the first hint that we got about the dragon would have been the sound of that screech, before flying into the scene. As cool as it was to see it take down the wall, that would have made for far greater a scene. I'm surprised they didn't think about that.
I suppose I like the imagery of it being pulled out of the water and being touched, but it could have been shown in a flashback, if need be, next season.

Its just all the sloppy logical issues that bugged me about that one. Which sure, could be written off as nitpicking, but the writers are usually more careful about that kind of stuff, so its a sign of the threads unraveling.

For sure, the threads are unraveling. I guess in my opinion, at the start of Season 7 when there were only 13 episodes left in the series, I'm glad the show is moving at a faster pace now since it seems like there's a fair amount to deal with yet. I will trade logistical and fast travel issues for better resolution of character arcs. I do think everything would have been better served with full-blown ten episode Seasons 7 and 8 but that was apparently not an option.

If imagine HBO has opened up the effects budget for the this.
Earlier seasons you could tell where they were skimping to put more money on the dragon episodes, but you dont really have that luxury here.
