I wish we had the original Game of Thrones thread, because I'm pretty sure I predicted the second-to-last season would end with the Wall coming down. More than once.

I found the finale a little underwhelming. The meeting with Cersei was drawn out and the pacing too slow for me. Perhaps I was spoiled by the action-packed episodes before it, not sure. Also, everything that happened was entirely predictable. Kind of sucks when there are no surprises.

That's my ranking of seasons right now. This season wasn't very good by the show or book standards, and despite the fan service, it's biggest winner was GRRM.

More reasons to hate him. That fat fuck is gonna die without finishing the books and in the process tarnished the show.

Season 7 will benefit from being viewed as part one of two. Seasons 7 and 8 are going to be the two-parter end to the series. I suppose it was the shorter length, but it did feel like it ended in the middle.

Cersei has to die by her brother we just don't know if it's Jaimie or not.
I'm gonna say it's Jamie

While most of it was predictable, they were told by George R.R. Martin way back in season one how he was planning to end the series. Whether they get their the same way as the books may never be known. He seriously needs to start working on finishing the books so we can read the difference.
Littlefinger finally seeing his demise by the Starks, was good. Having justice for their father and having Sansa, Arya and Bran see through him was good. If anything it closes the big shock from season one.

I think a lot of what has been happening will be different from the books. Much of this season has been fan service, and I dont think we're going to get that in written form.

Yeah, I don't see Dorne or Euron playing out remotely the same.

But with the production delays for Season 8, we will probably at least get Winds of Winter before that begins

I'd personally be pretty surprised if that turns out to be true.

It'll be his last Ice and Fire book. Why do the last book at this point?

It'll be his last Ice and Fire book. Why do the last book at this point? Because the show only has a few of his notes that he told them they had to hit. They don't know every characters end, have different journeys to that point, and the show if anything like season 7 will rush 8 to the point of an unsatisfying ending.

Yes the money is a huge part on finishing it, but I'm sure so he can tell his version. I know a few people who really love the book and haven't once watched the show, so that is motivation alone to have it finished.

I'm rewatching season 7 on Blu. The first episode is rather slow at many points, but damn is that last segment when they arrive on Dragonstone great.

Been disappointed with the commentary tracks. A couple were pretty boring and plenty of missed opportunities for several actors on some good scenes/episodes.
No commentaries from Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Emilia Clarke, Conleth Hill, Alfie Allen, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, or Isaac Wright.
Episode 4 (or 7) would have been good for Maisie, Sophie, and Isaac. Their commentaries on past sets have been some of the most fun to listen to.

It was also by far the quickest set to come out, so.
