You hated it because you sell Gatorade for a living? It was mainly the never ending obnoxious voice Sandler affected throughout the movie. That sort of thing is tolerable for a four minute SNL skit, but no more. Certainly not for 90 minutes from the lead character. All I really remember about that POS these days is that stupid voice, Henry Winkler playing Coach Von Wimp, Jerry Reed playing Coach McEvil and Faruza Baulk once again playing a psychotic chick. I saw The Waterboy in the theater the day it came out because that was the first place you could see the trailer for Star Wars Episode I in 1998. Of course the trailer was online a week later, but that was when I had to wait 6 hours for it to download on 56k, and pray no one picked up the phone while it did. I think that trailer's how I first discovered Comingsoon.net. |

I think that trailer's how I first discovered Comingsoon.net. I used to be a regular on that site as well. It broke my heart when it began going down hill. The X-Men boards were particularly fun and active, in addition to the Star Wars boards. There was almost always an active discussion going on between at least two or three people at any given time. The less active pages were usually a big mess, since nobody was moderating them and the PTB didn't care. |
