The doorbell to the spooky mansion is a woman screaming.
Did they film at Harvey Weinstein’s house?

The Butler is blind. The maid is deaf & mute.
Let’s keep scratching off disabilities.

It took 40 minutes but the premise of the movie is the world’s “greatest detectives” gathering at a spooky mansion to solve a murder that hasn’t been committed. Translation: they’re ripping off Clue.

THE DUNWICH HORROR (1970)Roger Corman and H.P. Lovecraft? You’re in for a ride. The story is a bit shaky. It stars 1950’s movie star Sandra Dee and Al from Quantum Leap. Al hypnotizes Sandra Dee and takes her to a small town in Massachusetts to perform a Satanic Ritual on her and unleash evil forces. There’s not much more to the story but it makes up for it with constant drug-infused visuals and great music. I dug it.

MOTEL HELL (1980)..... yeah. Movie is okay. It's just a redneck version of Sweeney Todd. But... would have been nice to see Pig Head alongside the likes of Jason and Leatherhead. Who wants to wear this as a Halloween costume? *Leatherface

WOLFEN (1981)This is the black sheep of 1981 werewolf movies and for good reasons. It’s slow and unimaginative - even with that silly point-of-view steadicam footage. But man, the James Horner score kicks ass. Shame it was wasted on a crap movie.

CUTTING CLASS (1989) Here's a movie worthy of a 1godzillafan trade paperback review. I can't tell if this movie is bad or an Andy Kaufman style practical joke. It stars Brad Pitt and Jill Schoelen (The Stepfather) as a high school couple terrorized by a psychotic classmate. It's framed as a slasher film but calling it that is an insult to the genre. Most of the runtime is spent on the following things: - Teachers and administrators being perverts towards Jill Schoelen. I guess it's supposed to be "funny" but it came across as random and awkward. Most frustrating of all, it could have served as a story beat. The killer could have been someone "protecting" the girl. But I don't think they actually had a script.
- Bad acting for the sake of bad acting. Brad Pitt plays a slacker on the verge of flunking out of high school. His only hope is getting a basketball scholarship to college, but if there's no high school diploma, there's no college. All this leads to nowhere. Nothing is resolved. So we get multiple scenes of bad acting from Brad Pitt that are completely meaningless. Then you get the killer who's ultimate goal is to get revenge on Jill Schoelen because her father locked him up in a mental ward for like 5 years. This isn't revealed till the end so the bulk of his screentime is him acting like a creep without any context or motivation. He's just there doing weird and bad acting. Not even funny acting. Just straight up bizarre acting.
Ultimately, this movie is just a series of random scenes stitched together by a series of murder scenes with no build up, no payoff and no purpose. Only reason to watch it is for Brad Pitt and some of the peculiar acting.
