Lost city of z by him is also really good. Did you catch the adaptation? Not yet, but I'm not sure how the adaptation will work. Or if it will. The many different threads and delusions of others describing the protagonists moments in the jungle were way more interesting. Check out the Millard book about teddy Roosevelt for another jungle adventure if it interested you at all.

Ready Player One - great book, so glad I finally listened to it ( Will Weaton is the narrator)
Now listening to Witch a Tale of Terror - its a excerpt from a book about the history of witch hunts in Europe.
Next is Witch Mania the History of Witchcraft - another chapter from the same author
Finished Don't Tell a Soul - True crime about a crazy mother who was about to lose her sons which she abused. He solution was to kill the babysitter so she couldn't testify against her.
Murder of Innocence: The Tragic Life and Final Rampage of Laurie Dann - True crime about a woman with multiple mental disorders who did some bizarre things, and finally went on a quest to poison the people she hated, and shoot up a school where someone else she hated worked.
I also listened to American history without all the legends and fables. The history of the space shuttle program from the inside. Among other books about strange facts, history, and biographies

The two witch excerpts were slightly different, but contained some of the same writing, so I returned the more expensive one and bought...
The Rules of Supervillainy by C.T. Phipps. Book one of the Supervillany series.
Its about a guy who inherits a magical sentient cape from a recently deceased hero, and decides to become Merciless, the Villain Without Mercy - yes, he knows its redundant but its a work in progress, just like his new career.
Its a pretty funny story with good characters. I'm on the second book The Games of Supervillainy.

Just finished Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. I think it's the best novel I've ever read, I'm floored by it.

I'm on the 4th and last Supervillainy book.
Its a amusing fun read for the most part. One big story over 4 roughly 180 page ebooks. If you want a light quick read you can find them for Kindle on Amazon Prime for free. The Rules} Games} Secrets} Science} of Supervillainy

The Man from the Train: The Solving of a Century-Old Serial Killer Mystery By Bill James and Rachel McCarthy James An excellent true crime book about the rash of axe murders from about 1890 to around 1930. The book examines a lot of axe murders of whole households of families that have too many common things the killer did to be just coincidence. This had to be the extensive work of one killer...and they eventually name who it might have been! This string of killings includes the infamous Villisca Axe Murders www.villiscaiowa.comInteresting read, well researched and put together. Now I am listening to The Faithful Executioner: Life and Death, Honor and Shame in the Turbulent Sixteenth Century Written by: Joel F. Harrington

I was thinking the same thing about his female character descriptions as I read it. Nearly every time he described a female character, I was like, "Okay...maybe take it down a few notches, pal."

The black hand by Steven taltry (sp)
What an interesting society, I had no idea it was so large. And such a short time ago really. Very interesting to hear about how police brutality went down too, just was the time for it.
Joe petrosino was an absolute badass to be put on the pedestals with the great American heroes of old though for sure. Really hoping we get a movie adaptation.
